NBA Star Devin Booker's Home In Arizona

The NBA Wunderkind Devin Booker’s Home In Arizona

NBA wunderkind Devin Booker’s home in Arizona is the continuation of his finesse, fluidity, and cutting-edge relation with space. On the court, the NBA wunderkind Devin Booker has impressed fans of the sport due to the subtleness of his moves. Currently playing for the Phoenix Suns, Devin Booker’s home in Arizona is the continuation of his finesse, fluidity, and cutting-edge relation with space. The NBA young star is also the boyfriend of supermodel Kendall Jenner. Devin Booker’s sleek Arizona abode is inspired by his friends’ homes. The NBA 25-year-old star considers himself fortunate to be surrounded by people with style. Meeting his friends and experiencing their homes triggered the well-appointed interior of Devin Booker’s home in Arizona. The modern single-story home features dramatic views of the nearby Phoenix Mountains Preserve as if the framed vistas were painted by the Taos Society of Artists. In fact, it was precisely that drama, that immediate connection to the surrounding landscape, that attracted Booker in the first place. Bought it 2019 to his brother Davon Wade, a real estate agent, Devin Booker’s home has a humble facade. Nevertheless, as soon as one enters the property is disarmed by the landscape design – the yard and an outdoor pool blended with the architecture and its surroundings. With a humble childhood, one of the NBA’s brightest young stars would dream big about his adulthood’s house. Even though the dimension and structure would change over time, Devin Booker’s home is exactly how he always have imagined its interior – clean and modern, with a pinch of nostalgia. The LA-based AD 100 mother-and-son firm Clements Design, known for its celebrity-estate portfolio, made Devin Booker’s wildest dreams come true. CLEMENTS DESIGN In the annals of design history, husband-and-wife collaborators are not uncommon, but a mother-and-son team is rare indeed. Kathleen and Tommy Clements have built their powerhouse interior design firm by crafting richly layered, finely curated, and eminently livable homes for many of the brightest luminaries in the notoriously fickle world of entertainment. Clements Design has been featured on the prestigious architecture and interior design authority list AD100. Their star-studded client list includes Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi; Bruno Mars; Jennifer Lawrence; Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo; Scooter and Yael Braun; and Kris Jenner. Whether they’re working on a neo-Palladian villa or a sleek, modern mansion, the Clementses apply the same straightforward, unpretentious design philosophy: “Don’t overthink it.”  On our blog, you can discover three high-end residential projects designed by the mother-and-son team, Jessica Alba’s Los Angeles Paradise, Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo’s Stunning Home, and the home of Kendall Jenner’s Home In Los Angeles, Devin Booker’s girllfriend. NBA STAR DEVIN BOOKER’S HOME IN ARIZONA Kathleen Clements and her son, Tommy Clements crafted the interior of Devin Booker’s home inspired by the way the NBA young star dresses. Cool, stylish, and natural. Effortless chic and casual yet highly elegant. Working within the existing architectural envelope, Clements and her team, in collaboration with L.A.-based Karan Brady Interiors, dressed the new home with custom furniture that can accommodate bodies pushing seven feet tall. Devin Booker loves to entertain, to be around his family and friends. It just so happens his friends are NBA players which means crafting 12-foot-long sofas and a custom poker table suitable for his towering teammates and finding appropriately scaled vintage furnishings that complement Booker’s art collection. During the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Devin Booker and his girlfriend, the supermodel Kendall Jenner, took a road trip exploring other areas of Arizona. When visiting Roden Crater the power couple was astonished by the experience. Booker was so in awe that he decided to purchase a signature Turrell LED wall sculpture for his dining room. Since his meteoric rise in the NBA, Booker’s hard work has allowed him to become the architect of his own story. His house is his sanctuary, an oasis from the high-pressure life of a professional athlete. With retracting walls of glass and a yard that boasts a Bali-inspired swimming pool, a firepit, and a guesthouse, the young superstar feels the best version of himself while at home. historic house

The vintage and historic house designed by Brahman Perera

This historic house builded in the 1860s is found in the heart of Melbourne, Australia. Previously a boarding house is now an eclectic home full of art, thanks to designer Brahman Perera. Blended into its surrounding is this historic house in Melbourne, originally used as a boarding house then turned into a corner shop. Nowadays it is a home full of identity thanks partly to the owners’ vintage and historic art collection gives it a special touch. However, designer Brahman Perera also gave it his magic touch.  ABOUT BRAHMAN PERERA Brahman Perera, a different kind of designer, gained valuable skills from his experience working with leading Australian designers Fiona Lynch and Hecker Guthrie. He has over ten years of experience in design, especially in architecture, fashion, custom lighting and interior design. At the same time, he honed his signature design aesthetics in residential, hotel, workplace, multi-residence and other fields. Brahman Perera has a bachelor’s degree in architectural design from RMIT. He said his dream began with the “Approval” of Fiona Lynch. (Fiona Lynch is the director of an arty Melbourne interior design firm, where the creative use of space, materials and customised details is the creative character of the project, from residential to hotel and retail.) Brahman Perera, who was still at university, made Fiona Lynch his first cold call and wrote to her himself. Brahman Perera’s bold approach paid off, and early in his career he played a part-time role that influenced him greatly. Brahman Perera describes himself as a designer. For him, design is a relationship. Understand needs and desires intuitively. Solve problems that others can’t see, and strive for eternal beauty. He respected the material part of life’s work, whether as a designer or as a sentient being, which represents who you are and how you came to be. Every step, from the concept, to hang the final artwork, no matter the scope is large or small. Design becomes stronger and more compelling only when it is brainstormed, challenged, and forced to demonstrate its integrity. A HISTORIC HOUSE WITH A NEW HERITAGE The owners of this previously boarding house wanted to give it a new identity. That’s when Perera came on board, to introduce a sense of order and clarity. The inspiration was the clients’ eclectic art collection that was storage and boxes. Brahman thought it will blend perfectly with the home’s heritage. “The finds were lovingly dissected, curated and employed in creative and cohesive ways,” says the designer. Some of the pieces gained new life. For instance, the 2.6 meter high doors were used as shutter for the dining room. Also the stylish stained glass window used to bridge the twin terraces. The historic house’s new identity is a mix between old and new, reusing some existing pieces and expertly acquiring new ones. “Many of the pieces look random and unconnected, but in reality, the combination weaves a rich landscape,” Brahman says. Brahman even custom made some of the pieces, such as the skirted pendant in thin layers of plaster which is for itself a piece of art. The lamp draws the eyes up to appreciate the height of the room. The royal purple sofa and the marble tables also give a special touch, giving the house a royal kind of feeling.  For Brahman, the house is still a work-in-progress giving the owners’ love for art collecting. “The couple will continue to dress and undress the spaces with new art, furniture and styling as they grow and enjoy their home. I think this should be true of any space–it’s never ever ‘done’, as we are never ever ‘done’. That’s the beauty of creating a base palette for clients like this, so their own personality can grow with the interior,” he concludes. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN? Rode Barns- The Eclectic, Modernist, Eden Farmhouse

Just two and a half hours away from Manhattan, this eclectic, modernist Eden farmhouse strives for attention. With its eccentric colors and very bold and modern approach this countryside retreat design is almost never seen before. This beautifully unique farmhouse belongs to an eBay executive, Bradford Shellhammer. He loves art and design and as you will notice, colors. He came up with this exquisite approach to the design of this 13-acre, three-bedroom farmhouse and the property’s eight additional structures. These facades have a modern twist to them, unseen in these type of farmhouses. Color of choice for the them is black and red. The main farmhouse facade also in black, kind of looks like a wrap for the colorful interiors. The protagonist- color Colors are the star of this design, exterior to interior they make this place to be what it is. According to Shellhammer the idea came from the light that hits the barns in different interesting angles. The light makes the colors in the interior change throughout the day. The real magic happens when you step in, in the hot pink living room full of Shellhammer’s design treasures, or in the kitchen and dining area. Every space you enter calls attention and inspires with its uniqueness. The glossy yellow staircase looks like candy flowing down. These stairs invite you up to the bedrooms which are mesmerizing spaces in the second floor of the house. The other spaces in the house, like the bedrooms, showcase the Bauhaus-inspired neon ceiling murals and more of Shellhammer’s eclectic art collection. This farmhouse design is an inspiration and an invite to follow your instincts and to believe in your ideas. According to Shellhammer this design wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for him following his instincts. A great inspiration for us to stop being indecisive and not trust our ideas, but love and embrace our own personal style. Source: AD Photography:  Chris Mottalini

Alex P White Transforms A Loveless Place Into A Gripping Home

Alex P White transforms a loveless place into a gripping home with a palette of warm neutral, striking art pieces, and copious textures in Beverly Hills. ABOUT ALEX P WHITE Based in New York and Los Angeles, Alex P White is an interior designer admired for his provocative, unconventional style. Alex’s background in fine art and performance provides a strong foundation and unique point of view for the self-taught designer. Alex worked with the acclaimed interior designer, Kelly Behun for a decade as her lead designer overseeing custom artworks, furniture, and interiors. Their last project together, before Alex P White set his own design studio, was the model penthouse for 432 Park Avenue in New York City, which sold fully furnished and helped broker a three-unit deal. Alex P White’s created environments are highly curated experiences that place significant historical works in dialog with the best of contemporary art and design. His work often presents us with glimpses of 70s’ interiors. His small boutique studio assures clients a highly personalized, hands-on experience with an emphasis on collaboration and bespoke service. A GRIPPING HOME IN LOS ANGELES Good interior design isn’t aestheticism but meaning. Conceptualizing the interior of a house isn’t filling it with rare objects or designer furniture. Conceptualizing a place is about turning a habitation into a home that manifests the identity and belief of its owner. The interior designer Alex P White transforms a loveless place into a gripping home with a palette of warm neutral, striking art pieces, and copious textures in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. This gripping home in Los Angeles offered privacy, intimacy, and airy rooms. Even though the house had great bones, a near-perfect layout, and a beautiful double-height interior, it lacked soul and meaning. The owner, who happens to be an art and design collector and Alex P White’s long-time friend, had her private art collection available for the interior designer. As a matter of fact, the desirable works of art are the point of departure of this expensive home in Beverly Hills. Adding soul and meaning to this modern home implied the introduction of new materials and the design of new textures, both visual and tactile. To illustrate, Alex P White pursued the construction of a floating staircase out of white oak and glass, reimagined a rather diminutive fireplace and mantel into a two-story plaster, sanded, bleached, and refinished the floors, and painted nearly every wall a limewash plaster in order to lend the whole place an earthy glow. More than refinishing the structure, designing this gripping home in Beverly Hills is about creating sensations. For instance, the staircase should feel triumphant, like when Diana Ross performed in Central Park in 1983 during a torrential downpour. The living room should have an air of seduction, like that electric flirtation between Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in The Thomas Crown Affair. As a matter of fact, the seductive feeling results from a palette of neutrals with grey pigments, a gradient of taupe, the combination of curated patterns that only expertise could pull off, and the addition accents with a dry color, such as Olive Branch. Once a life- and loveless place, the residence in Beverly Hills needed substance, beauty, and interest, but like any other household, it needed out-of-sight storage, a functional home office, and outdoor areas that could operate as extensions of the living room. The combination of textures and dashes of color make this house a gripping home. However, the juxtaposition of modern and contemporary designers enhances its beauty and character. If in one room we find designs of Gio Ponti, in another room we find the daring furniture of Rick Owens. Linking different design stories is custom-made furniture and a modern aestheticism that nods to the 70s. Resort-style Home of Kate Walker’s in Mornington Peninsula

Biscayne hides in the sleepy area of Mount Martha on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. The holiday state-of-mind of this resort-style home can be felt in each and every detail. Walker saw immense potential in the house’s orientation. “It was a challenge. The backs of houses aren’t normally as pretty as the front,” observes the designer and founder of her eponymous studio, Kate Walker Design. “But I was immediately drawn to the colonial aesthetic; the home had all the hallmarks of that design style, and it became all about articulating those features. “We closed in the old verandah and extended the front entrance to make it a real focal point, and we looked a lot at connectivity between inside and outside. With the landscape design, it became about creating outdoor rooms, similar to how all of these different moments and experiences can be contained within the grounds of a hotel.” Inside this resort-style home, the kitchen forms the nucleus of the home. The stately slab of Amazonia marble plays host to a school lunch production line and breakfast on the run in the mornings. From 4pm it transforms into a homework bench. By dinner, meals that are cooked in a palatial oven are served and devoured on the island’s surface. This sense of exuberant energy extends throughout the entire home and up the stairs. In the powder room, a flock of pink-and-white herons dance along the walls. In the main ensuite, a bench-like basin stand that doubles as an exquisite piece of furniture subverts the notion of conventional joinery. Udoubtedly, the art collection gives Biscayne its sentimental value. We can find here a special commission by Australian artist Craig Parnaby and also while a trio of works by Brooklyn-based artist Wayne Pate, hangs in the entrance foyer. The Parisian Minimalist Interior of Zadig & Voltaire Designers

After leaving a beloved Haussmannian apartment, Thierry Gillier, founder of the Parisian firm Zadig & Voltaire, his wife, artistic director Cecilia Bönström moved to a 500 m2 duplex. An apartment is kept with a minimalist interior that frames an abundant and varied collection of art.  Before leaving his mark on fashion, Gillier was an artist. Also he was a fan of furniture and objects so collecting arts became a passion. His love for the minimalist and monochromatic trend began when he lived in New York. After working at Yves Saint Laurent, he created his own brand with the name of his favorite book, Zadig de Voltaire. For this Frenchman, fashion is an art as important as literature or cinema.  As an artistic director, Cecilia Bönström brings her own aesthetic. Originally from Sweden, the basis of her vision we can find in Scandinavian minimalism. However, there are subtle differences with the simplicity her husband seeks. In fact, their collection of arts evolved from quiet refinement to something more imaginative. This is how their two-story house on Rue Galilée shows elegance and play in the minimalist interior. Here, the couple share their aesthetic vision transferred to interior design. Minimalist Interior And Private Museum “I dreamed of a place that would capture our minimal style and at the same time harmonize with our collection” says Gillier. “Every time we buy a new place, we look for a new designer. This time a Belgian architect, Bernard Dubois, was in charge. I wanted to create an atmosphere where the past and future coexist” the couple explains. Every inch of this minimalist interior is carefully thought out. Large-format paintings and photographies fill the walls. Moreover, ancient figures from Africa and Indonesia add warmth to the modern atmosphere. The top two floors of the building, including the rooftop, have become home to the family and art pieces. The window on the roof allows for the sunshine to enter each corner. The terrace has a clear view of the Eiffel Tower. On a starry night the family gathers here for a meal. The apartment is not only an oasis of calm for the artists. It is also the best home museum for the duo’s art collection. “Collecting art is like collecting stories. Interestingly, my line has not evolved over time, but now I have more ability to choose. I make fewer mistakes. We buy to the point of not being able to house all the works at home. If necessary, we sell. We also have many in our office ” highlights the couple. Mid-century Interior Design In Polish PURO Hotel

Mid-century Interior Design After several months of preparations, PURO Hotels re-opened one of its first properties. The hotel is right next to the historic Old Town, in the heart of Cracow in Poland. Recently, its interiors have undergone a complete metamorphosis. It is undoubtedly an embodiment of a new version of a mid-century interior design. PURO company invited the young Polish design studio Paradowski to cooperate in their creation. The designers kept the project in a mid-century interior design style. The result is a stylish, modern, yet embedded in the local past – space. The vision of the young generation of designers gives it a track. Local artistic heritage Locality has always been an important element of PURO’s identity. This value is further emphasized in the completely revitalized collection of works of art. Therefore, the hotel now houses artworks created primarily by artists with close ties to Cracow’s creative community. Using various artistic techniques and forms, the artists refer to local architecture or the surrounding nature. The project evokes the chic of old Cracow, while using modern craftsmanship. In common spaces, natural oak contrasts with cool stone. All glass and ceramic elements displayed in the hotel are obviously made in Polish studios and dedicated to this interior. This new mid-century interior design pays tribute to important chapters in the history of Polish design. Unfortunately, these chapters are rather undiscovered by international guests. It takes inspiration from the interiors of interwar Cracow cafes or the iconic Forum and Cracovia hotels. In the hotel rooms and common spaces, guests can relax among European design classics from Scandinavia and Italy, as well as the Netherlands, Great Britain and Germany. The choice of furniture and lighting is a combination of classic craftsmanship with a youthful, contemporary style. The new PURO project is complemented by a completely new version of the hotel’s art collection. After entering the hall, a mosaic designed by Tomasz Opaliński greets the guests. Moreover, a continuation of cooperation with the artist is an impressive wooden bas-relief in the lobby, which is a tribute to the Polish Tatra Mountains. Moreover, the ornate relief on ceramics, referring to the sgraffito technique, attracts a lot of attention. A series of such different works by one artist reflects different styles and shapes of Polish cultural heritage. Surely, the mid-century interior design of PURO Cracow Old Town provides an extensive reshuffle of the hotel’s art collection. The common spaces perfectly reflect the youthful energy of the Cracow art scene. The hotel displays local artists’ abstract paintings, collages, installations and drawings. A light-filled Californian family home designed for entertaining

Decorated with contemporary artworks and design pieces, this 1,115-square-metre family home has the elegance of an LA home and the affection of a farmhouse. “Occasionally, you meet people with whom you feel a special kinship,” writes principal and creative director Nicole Hollis about this project. As you become aware, you realize you have so much in common that ideas roll back and forth, and it is easy to forget who came up with them in the first place. Sometimes design is a stream of consciousness in which we naturally discover something unique and beautiful. Hollis first worked on a residence in Hawaii for this couple with three children. An experience that naturally led her to design the family’s Los Angeles home. Situated in Thousand Oaks, California, the family home was designed by architecture practice RIOS (formerly known as Rios Clementi Hale Studios). Characterized by its graceful layout, soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling steel frame windows, expansive views, and a series of interconnected patios, the property comprises five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, his-and-hers offices, a separate guest chalet, an outdoor kitchen, and fire pit, as well as a pool and a pool house with a gym. For the interiors, Hollis and her team worked closely with the stylish and creative family who loves to entertain in order to make sure the spaces would fit their needs and taste. One key element in designing this family home is that the client is very organized, and everything is needed to have a home. Therefore, they created a residence that has compartmentalized areas while maintaining a laid-back California style.  Bathed in natural light, the home features a layered and refined aesthetic yet has the heart of a modern farmhouse. The dusty pale jade color informed the muted materials palette that prevails throughout the house of an egg from one of the family’s Araucana chickens. The soft tones highlight the beautiful owners’ art collection that includes works by renowned artists Richard Serra, Damien Hirst, and Ed Ruscha and emerging talents from the area. “We wanted to design different areas for the kids and adults to retreat and hang with different groups,” Hollis explains. “Each separate ‘wing’ is anchored by the open-plan Great Room, where the client can host larger gatherings or spend quality time as a family.” While the kitchen is adorned with Calacatta marble countertops and Christian Liaigre Caravelle suspensions, the airy dining room features a custom Nicole Hollis dining table and benches by Michael Boyd with the 10-globe Branching Bubble chandelier by Lindsey Adelman.   In the living room with hand-painted ombré linen curtains, Nicole Hollis custom-designed the linen and leather upholstered sofa, which combines with Elysia lounge chairs for De La Espada. Dark tones prevail in the clubby lounge, which has a full-length bar, creating an intimate atmosphere with a masculine feel. The L-shaped banquette with tufting and blackened steel base and Calacatta gold slab tabletop is complemented with Elbow chairs by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn. Refined and relaxed simultaneously, this family home, which embraces indoor-outdoor living with its alfresco seating and entertaining areas surrounded by vegetation and Santa Monica mountains, perfectly embodies the quintessential Southern California style. 10 Best Modern Architecture Projects That You Need To Know

From Santiago Calatrava’s Oculus to the Louvre Abu Dhabi by Jean Nouvel, the best modern architecture projects go above and beyond their vertical height in redefining the ever-changing world of architecture. The design of office buildings, museums, airports, train stations, and homes cannot always be innovative. However, much of architecture consists of those simple structures necessary for cities to grow and humanity to advance. Culture progresses in fits and starts and never advances. Furthermore, to observe a revolutionary work of architecture is to journey to the near future. These are the 10 best modern architecture projects. 432 Park Avenue (2015) by Rafael Viñoly – New York Rafael Viñoly’s 432 Park Avenue is the tallest completed residential building in the Western Hemisphere, located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Proponents of the design will say that there is a certain elegance to the all-white, uniform shape, while skeptics argue it lacks character. The design expresses the structural solution to an enormous engineering challenge while also reflecting the other defining urban feature of New York, the city’s grid. Apple Park (2017) by Foster + Partners – Cupertino, California Apple Park will always be remembered as the final vision of the firm’s inimitable founder, Steve Jobs. Created by Foster + Partners, the 175-acre campus resulted from a dream that Jobs had in 2004 while walking through London’s Hyde Park. Steve Jobs had decided to house his company in a new environment where the barrier between building and nature seamlessly disappeared. Elbphilharmonie Hamburg (2017) by Herzog & de Meuron – Hamburg Herzog & de Meuron’s design for the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg is physical evidence that adaptive reuse can be done to stunning, head-turning effect. Completed in 2017, the bottom half of the building has a history that dates back further than that. The foundation of Herzog & de Meuron’s design is a brick building that was a former warehouse built in 1963. Foundation Louis Vuitton (2014) by Frank Gehry – Paris Completed in 2014, the vessel-shaped glass structure sits among the trees and lawns of Paris’s Bois de Boulogne. The building is filled with LVMH’s impressive art collection. For his inspiration, Gehry looked back to several great designs of the 19th century. The building plays between solid and glassworks to perfection within the verdant atmosphere of the Bois de Boulogne. Louvre Abu Dhabi (2017) by Jean Nouvel – Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Completed in 2017, the estimated $650 million building located in Abu Dhabi is a milestone for a city that, as of the 1950s, did not have paved roads, electricity, or running water. The 258,333square-foot structure, which Jean Nouvel designed, features a stainless-steel and aluminum dome that’s been cut and layered to stunning effect. National Museum of Qatar (2019) by Jean Nouvel – Doha, Qatar The 361,861 square-foot structure contains the many artifacts, stories, and images that encompass the creation of modern-day Qatar. What separates the National Museum of Qatar from any other museum is its revolutionary architecture. What made Nouvel’s task of designing this museum so tricky is what was being asked of him – to create a building that, by shape and formation, would become the very embodiment of Qatari identity. His answer came in the form of the desert rose, a naturally occurring phenomenon in the region. Shanghai Tower (2015) by Gensler – Shanghai Designed by Gensler and completed in 2015, the 2,073 foot-tall Shanghai Tower has a seemingly endless list of records. The tallest building in China, second tallest in the world, world’s tallest observation deck, and the world’s second-fastest elevator system. The tower’s asymmetrical form, tapering profile, and rounded corners allow the building to withstand the typhoon-force winds common in Shanghai. The Broad (2015) by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler – Los Angeles The architects at Diller Scofidio + Renfro are modern-day magicians. The structure itself holds a nearly 2,000-piece collection of contemporary art, making it like any other museum in the world. However, that is where the similarities abruptly end. The 50,000 square-foot building acts as a seamless buffer between the inside and the outside world. The veil’s walls are also engineered so that no direct sunlight will ever penetrate the space despite the movement of the sun. The cellular structure all around acts like a sponge absorbing and transmitting light as needed. The Oculus (2016) by Santiago Calatrava – New York Santiago Calatrava has built a reputation for creating dynamic modern architecture. The structure is built of steel, concrete, stone, and glass. It takes the shape of a bird, specifically a phoenix, in mid-flight. The symbolism of a phoenix rising from the ashes is immediate, as the building is located mere feet from the September 11th Memorial and Museum in downtown Manhattan. The Shed (2019) by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and David Rockwell – New York The Shed, which opened in 2019, starts as a static 200,000-square-foot cultural space. Nevertheless, the modern architecture building consists of an outer shell that sits on a set of wheels connected to a short track. Once activated by way of a 121-horsepower engine, the shell moves away from the mainframe of the building, in effect creating an entirely new building that is part of the original one. 10 of the Most Breathtakingly Architectural Houses

Here are the most breathtakingly architectural houses. From a waterfront treasure by Isamu Noguchi along the coast to a stunning desert haven by Frank Lloyd Wright, these are a dynamic collection of architecturally striking homes. While every house has an epic art collection, some residences are truly works of art in themselves, created by top-tier architects who are not afraid of making bold statements in their work. Artist Isamu Noguchi and architect Wallace K. Harrison’s 1940 design for a glass-and-birch house. The sinuous lines that echo the Maine coast embodied the concept “site-specific” long before the term was popularized. In the late ’90s, the dazzling house completely burned to the ground. Therefore, the owners enlisted a trio of talents to rebuild a replica in its place. Conceived in collaboration with Kovac Design Studio, the Los Angeles home of Lori Kanter Tritsch and her partner, William P. Lauder of the Estée Lauder Companies, features sliding glass walls that open up to spectacular views. In the ritzy Trousdale Estates section of Beverly Hills, designers James Magni and Jeremy Graef crafted a minimalist refuge. Located in Dave’s residence, the flawless entertaining pavilion designed by the team enjoys spectacular views overlooking Los Angeles. Boasts a dynamic collection of blue-chip art by Anish Kapoor, Sterling Ruby, Antony Gormley, Chris Burden, and Jaume Plensa. Surrounded by water and protected landscape, this breathtaking Hamptons residence was crafted by Leroy Street Studio and decorated by Victoria Hagan. Sheathed in gray-gold Palestinian limestone, the dramatic architecture is accompanied by an outdoor infinity pool and sweeping views of the Southampton shoreline. Perfectly reflecting the subtle palette of the surrounding desert landscape, this modern masterpiece in Palm Springs is the vision of Southern California architecture firm Marmol Radziner. Pictured is one of the abode’s corridors. The shadows cast a graphic pattern against a site-specific installation by artist Phillip K. Smith III, made of mirrored glass and LED lights, which changes color throughout the day. For her serene Palm Beach escape, designer Lillian Fernandez sought inspiration from a modernist seaside villa conjured by Hugh Newell Jacobsen in Casa de Campo. To help achieve her vision, she called upon local architects Stephen Roy and Virginia Dominicis, and the designer Fernando Wong. She provides them with a brief set of instructions for an artful one-bedroom house, plus a separate guesthouse, emphasizing connections to the outdoors. Architect William T. Georgis revamped this midcentury marvel in Southern California originally designed by Homer Delawie, a venerated regional architect. In 1963, the revived post-and-beam house now featured a stunning collection of art, including George Condo, Kenny Scharf, and Tom Sachs. Major art collectors Linda and Jim Lippman tapped architect Steve Giannetti and designer Anna Busta to conceive this stunning residence near Palm Springs. Adding visual punch to the entrance gallery is Anish Kapoor’s concave mirror works, a painting by Willem de Kooning, and a Richard Hudson sculpture displayed atop an Atelier Viollet table. Known for his muscular brand of architecture, Seattle-based Tom Kundig conjured the Rimrock House perched on a basalt ledge overlooking Spokane River. Clad primarily in weathered steel, the cliffside dwelling is as breathtaking as its woodland surroundings. As America’s most beloved architect, Frank Lloyd Wright devised hundreds of architectural houses across the country from the 1890s to the 1950s. For the David and Gladys Wright home in the Arizona desert, the architect incorporated elements of his Usonian ideal to conjure an “A Modern Castle in the Air,” as House Beautiful magazine dubbed it in 1955. The interiors are no less stunning, with floor-to-ceiling windows, concrete floors, and a mahogany ceiling, all of which have been graciously preserved by the current owners. Interior Designer Jennifer Bunsa Create A Colorful Home In South Florida

Placed away on a street in Coral Gables, a historic community in Miami, colorful home with five bedrooms and four bathrooms is now home to a couple and their three daughters. The residence, which interior designer Jennifer Bunsa refers to as her “ideal project,” captures her unique approach to design. After a brief move to pre-pandemic Connecticut, Bunsa’s clients were ready to return home. Fortunately, the timing was definitely in their favor. “They came right back at the beginning of the closing,” Bunsa says of the couple’s decision to move back south. The couple chose to renovate the house, originally built in 1955, to breathe new life into it. Construction took forever, about four years. A new bedroom, improved lighting, and a few adjustments to the existing bathrooms later, and the space was complete. Well, almost. The designer was responsible for the house since the owners were not in town. “When someone does not live there, it is not being cleaned; there is no one there to take deliveries; and, because of COVID, we did not have our normal team. So it was a physical challenge.” With no furniture in vision other than a vintage dining table, the designer began her journey to create a warm, inviting, and colorful home for her family. When it came to the initial mood board, capturing a sense of joy and familiarity through the use of color was most important in her mind. At first, concrete floors and high ceilings do not usually have the ‘home’ feel that Bunsa was willing to achieve. Nevertheless, after exploring the owners’ art collection, adopting warm wood tones, and scattering Tuareg rugs throughout, the Coral Gables’ colorful home began to feel like a home. With color and sophistication at the vanguard of its decorating choices, one of Bunsa’s decisions stands out. A cheerful wallpaper at the entrance. Like an Isamu Noguchi Akari Light sculpture that dances effortlessly over the dining table, muted tones and special additions bring tranquility to the space. This basic design act is a move to Bunsa’s quintessential and unquestionably desirable style. “Having worked in New York for so many years, I guess that is just what I bring to the table,” she jokes about her ability to blend excess with purity. We could say that her formula is the perfect combination, which ultimately generated this colorful home in South Florida. We really hope you liked our article. Inside an Antique and Contemporary House by Redd Kaihoi

In a neighborhood that has drawn Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, designer Miles Redd turns a 1950s flat into an eclectic and contemporary house. Miles Redd embarked on his interior design career after graduating from NYU. In 1998 he opened his design firm in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood. He is known for his eccentric brand of warm glamour. Playful mixtures of high and low characterize his unique aesthetic vision. Also, he likes to refresh with splashes of color and modern gestures. Curvy and sexy as all get-out, the 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL parked outside Sarofim’s new home is the perfect throwback. Built in 1958, the single-level house, whose crescent roof, swooping walls, and perfectly round dining room are signatures of its architect, Robert L. Earl, is one of many wonders that landed in the Trousdale Estates. Sarofim restores cars and enters them in competitions around the world. Therefore, he is so passionate that he has been known to remove the furniture from his dining room. He turns it into a stage for one of his biggest prizes: a rare 1970 Lancia Stratos HF 0 that looks like it is straight out of a James Bond movie. Nevertheless, if vintage cars are the perfect Trousdale touch, the home’s furnishings are counterintuitive. The rooms are filled with museum antiques and an art collection that mixes old masters with edgier contemporary works. The home’s zeitgeist can be described as “maximum minimalism,” says the interior designer, Miles Redd. The mixes clearly work, but it took some convincing. Meanwhile, Redd and his partner David Kaihoi began a sprint to furnish the house. They accomplished it in just six months. Sarofim trusted the team to bring coherence and a sense of style to his home, although he did push back on one of Redd’s suggestions. Sarofim likes blue, and Miles had an idea to do something like 14 shades of blue lacquer. However, the house owner disagrees and wants to keep it black, white, and grey. Redd and Kaihoi made sure that the home is not lacking in color. A peacock-blue biscuit-tufted velvet sofa has a dialogue with one of Damien Hirst’s vivid spot paintings in the living room. A guest room, upholstered in Kaihoi’s green-velvet Tutsi fabric, features a blue-lacquered canopy bed with a matching blue rug. Meanwhile, in the bright sunroom, the color scheme gets an extra jolt from a horizontally striped ikat in a crayon palette on the sofa. Sarofim loves to socialize, and with five bedrooms, the 6,200-square-foot contemporary house has ample space for the constant stream of family and friends who come to visit. “I entertain quite a bit, everything from small dinner parties to cocktail parties. On weekends, we have barbecues and pool parties with the kids,” he says. We really hope you liked our article. Feel free to pin all the images to your favourite Pinterest board.
