Arab culture is reflected in the colors of sand and spices as well as the elaborate mashrabiya patterns of this projet’s contemporary living.

Families are drawn to Dubai’s Tilal Al Ghaf district, which is easy to understand given that it’s a resort-style community with a mix of newly constructed villas, townhouses, and apartments centered around a picture-perfect blue lagoon.
The owner of this lovely three-bedroom townhouse, who lives here with her student daughter, was drawn to its country-in-the-city vibe. She has made her house unique with the help of interior designer Darya Zheltukha that transforms it into a contemporary living home.

Living Room
In this space, Zheltukha highlighted natural elements like lots of marble and timber veneers to go with the color scheme.
The mashrabiya elements persist as a recurring theme discreetly integrated throughout various areas of the home.
With that in mind, the contemporary living is showcased in the house’s custom-designed furniture, from the seamless veneered TV and storage wall in the living room to the adorable russet red fringed pouf and a set of white marble tables.

Another carefully chosen element is the rug. In the living room, the swirled design echoes the veined white marble of the furniture, while in other designs, latticework patterns are incorporated to complement the mashrabiya features of contemporary living.
These rugs offer layers of warmth and texture in addition to improving the visual coherence of any space.
The design creates a pleasing equilibrium that is both sophisticated and hospitable by carefully choosing motifs that complement the house’s mix of tradition and contemporary living.
Dining room

Zheltukha’s color scheme for this serene Dubai home takes inspiration from the vibrant paintings that surround it; these paintings were all created by local artists and were chosen to capture Dubai’s “friendly, multinational vibe.”
As an illustration, the dining room’s olive and russet velvet chairs are inspired by the colors of a large group portrait that hangs at one end of the room.
The golden-brown tones of another painting in one of the bedrooms are translated to a headboard and cushions in rich caramel, embodying the essence of contemporary living.

It’s a design technique that, without overpowering the small areas, adds coziness and warmth to this contemporary living house.
A visually engaging palette is produced by combining brilliant hues reminiscent of bustling markets with earthy tones inspired by the desert terrain.
This vibrant mix adds vitality and warmth to any space. While the neutral tones provide a grounding effect and the vivid colors make eye-catching focal points, the overall effect is harmonious and well-balanced.
This tasteful blending not only improves the aesthetic appeal but also captures the vibrant, multifaceted essence of the community’s culture.
The dining area, with its luxuriously rich colors becomes the main focal point in the finished home, exemplifying contemporary living at its finest.
Bedroom

With the project accomplished, the owner’s favorite feature is the elaborate brass lanterns hanging over the main bedroom’s bed, which is matched with a beautiful stucco moulding.
According to Zheltukha, “she loves the combination of tradition and modern comfort.”
The house features a mix of modern glass and marble items on one side and elaborate metal and woodwork, along with lamps and lanterns.
On the other, blending contemporary living with traditional craftsmanship.
Bathroom

Said by the architect “The design was sketched by us and custom-made from wood veneer. We used it to make mirror frames, lighting and partitions, so it looks contemporary but nods to tradition”
This careful planning guarantees that every area is rich in cultural significance and aesthetically pleasing, resulting in a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
Zheltukha’s expertise and vision are evident in every detail, making this Dubai project a true masterpiece of modern and contemporary living interior design.
