These are the six 2022 bedroom trends that you should take into account when it’s time to design a modern bedroom. 1. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY 2022 Bedroom trends dictate that quality overhauls quantity. This doesn’t necessarily mean that minimalism will be the interior design style of choice for interior designers. The trending modern organic is the best interior design style for the 2022 bedroom design. 2. EARTHY TONES Earthy tones are here to stay. Green, blue, and terracotta in combination with soothing neutrals, like cream, beige, and taupe, set the perfect mood for a good night of sleep. It can be a reading corner, a meditating nook, or a small living room. 4. HIDE-AWAY STORAGE Built-in wardrobes, ottoman beds, or tailor-made cabinetry are some of the 2022 bedroom trends that create a more harmonious bedroom layout. Be creative and focus the bedroom design on its essentials – a stunning bed, soft sheets, and a cozy throw. 5. This glamour house in California reimagines the 1960’s design style

Ed Cole and Christopher Wigand transformed their midcentury property in a glamour house in California evoking the 1960s design style. The result is a lusty home with a lot of character. A GLAMOUR HOUSE IN CALIFORNIA When the couple, Ed Cole and Christopher Wigan, looked for a home in Southern California, the request was for a midcentury property that retained its original character. The search was not easy, most of the 1960s houses were renovated beyond recognition. Eventually they fell in love with the glamour house previously owned by media heir George Randolph Hearst. The storied property, also known as San Simeonita – for its resemblance to San Simeon’s Hearst Castle -, was originally created by Hollywood set designer James McNaughton. A STORIED HOLLYWOOD HOUSE Originally, McNaughton designed an imponent property with a mysterious atmosphere with a towering doorway with brass medallions. Inside, Cole and Wigan, found an outdoor surrounded by Romanesque statues, colonnaded belvederes and reflecting pools overlooking the Coachella Valley. The Palladian-style villa located in Palm Springs was bigger than expected and needed some work to restyle its 8,000 square feet of glass-walled rooms. Interior designer Anthony Cochran and contractor Stoker Inc. worked on the project to create a 21st century reinterpretation of the 1960s style. ABOUT ANTHONY COCHRAN From desert retreats to country estates, Anthony Cochran blends cultures, periods and styles to achieve interiors that are both personal and memorable. Grand rooms feel approachable. Small rooms feel special. Every detail of decor and lifestyle are considered in creating spaces that are at once sophisticated, indulgent yet unintimidating. For Cochran, the challenge was to give a modern style while maintaining the past identity. The home’s original décor and layout were taking into account when renewing some of the spaces. The new owners also wanted to redecorate with their vast collection of furniture, which included Italian antiques and bold pieces. At the end, all came together splendidly. The Top 2022 Outdoor Design Trends

Whether you have a large backyard or just a small patio to work on, there are many things you can do to create the perfect outdoor living space. But before you start the work, make sure you’re up to date. These are the top 2022 outdoor design trends. EARTHY TONES From nature to our homes. Earthy tones are the color scheme that has been dominating interior design projects, residential and commercial. The natural palette has proven to be very versatile and its beauty shows up on neutral hues, such as dusty and sandy tones or light shades of blue. Nevertheless, warmer earthy tones are the biggest color trend in 2022. The color of choice for indoor and outdoor interior design projects is… terracotta. Take it as inspiration, and add furniture, decorative pieces and ornaments in red, orange, magenta, golden, and other saturated earthy tones. INDOOR-OUTDOOR SPACES Blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. This is another huge 2022 outdoor design trend. Create a sense of cohesion and blend the interior of the house with the exterior. In recent years, outdoor furniture design has been rivaling modern furniture traditionally used indoors rather than what we used to identify as ‘outdoor furniture’. New materials, such as vegan and eco-friendly fibers, and multipurpose furniture pieces take down barriers to creativity. It’s easy to design an outdoor area that feels like an additional room to the house instead of the impression of an ‘outsider’ space. To maximize your outdoor design, create communal areas under a patio covering. In order to make an outdoor living room or dining room feel like a curated interior space, add rugs, ceramics, candles, and decorative lighting. Many high-end furniture brands have a selection of outdoor furniture or customizable outdoor materials. WELLNESS AREA ‘Home’ gained a new meaning with the pandemic. This new perspective of ‘home’ is a place where we can truly and fully enjoy ourselves. For this reason, it is important to design communal areas that can welcome family and entertain friends as much as it is important to have a private nook to exercise, meditate, and nurture a holistic lifestyle. The 2022 outdoor design trends bring outdoors something that interior designers have been doing indoors – designing wellness rooms. OUTDOOR DINING AREA Almost everyone dreams about an open-air dining room, there is no better way to entertain family and friends during the summertime than an alfresco dining moment. Imagine the feel of the summer breeze, a refreshing glass of white wine, and the taste of fresh fruit. An outdoor dining area is likely where we will create the best memories… so it must be a carefully designed space, right? This 2022 outdoor design trend demands functionality and comfort. Design an outdoor dining area under a patio cover or a natural shade, choose outdoor materials for the furnishings, like concrete, travertine, and faux leather, dedicate some time to the lighting design, and create an extra seating area. These are just some tips to master an outdoor dining area design in 2022. READ OUTDOOR DINING AREA – THE GOLDEN RULES HERE OUTDOOR KITCHEN There’s no better way to spend a summer evening than having a good meal with the sunset as background. For those who love to entertain and cook, an outdoor kitchen is a mandatory element in the backyard. It can be fully equipped, a simple barbecue grill, or even a fire pit to melt marshmallows or to toast some corn. A good meal is often defined by who we share it with. However, if you’re committed to following this 2022 outdoor design trend, take into account that one of the most important things in an outdoor kitchen is storage, shelving and cabinet, and a multipurpose countertop where you can cook and have a meal right away. READ HOW TO DESIGN A LUXURY OUTDOOR KITCHEN HERE MEANINGFUL GARDENS Meaningful gardens are another 2022 outdoor design trend. Think of natural materials and earthy colors, multipurpose furniture, and indoor-outdoor areas. Outdoor design is all about functionality. Therefore, gardens are meant not only to be beautiful but also to be useful. This outdoor design trend is responsible and eco-friendly. What does this mean? Meaningful gardens mean to plant in order to later harvest, such as aromatic herbs, vegetables, and fruit trees. OUTDOOR LIVING ROOMS It doesn’t take much to design a stylish outdoor living room yet it takes as much care and creativity as designing an interior living room. For a good outdoor living room design, choose a location, then a layout, and consider materials. Think of designing a space to take nap and to engage in conversations all night long. An outdoor living room must serve both opposite purposes. For that reason, cozy furniture is mandatory – and luckily there’s plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture on the market – as well as a temperature regulator, like parasols and fire pits. And finally, outdoor and weather-resistant finishings are everything. BOHO DESIGN STYLE Bohemian interior design with its bold angles, eclectic patterns, and saturated hues is perhaps the most important interior design style for 2022 outdoor design projects. Even though this vibrant and soulful interior design style is trending, that doesn’t mean that an outdoor design project needs to go by the book. Instead, add some subtle boho notes to the modern outdoor design. Textured pillows, shaggy rugs, sleek furniture pieces, colorful decorative objects, and a firepit will bring it all together. The luxury holistic home redesigned by Nina Maya

Nina Maya redesigned the former home of Bob Hawke and Blanche Hawke in Sydney. The luxury holistic transformation aimed to be a pure white page for new owners who wanted the ‘Maya look’. A HOLISTIC LUXURY HOME REDESIGNED Moving in to the house of the longest serving Australian Labour prime-minister, late Bob Hawke, can be overwhelming.  The new inhabitants wanted to write their own story in the luxury five-storey complex over Sydney’s Sugarloaf Bay. That was the challenge for Nina Maya who worked alongside architect Ian Traill to renew the archy contemporary edifice. Nina is used to rebel against the norms so there was no issue with making major alterations in the house layout. “As much as possible we reinstated scale, removed walls, heightened ceilings, floated stairs across five levels, clarified circulation routes and installed full height glazing on every level,” she says. “Ian masterfully massaged the whole thing, gave us the clean slate and clear sight lines to sparkling waters, boats and lush greenery.” ABOUT NINA MAYA INTERIORS Nina Maya Interiors specializes in beautiful bespoke residential and commercial interiors. Known for its tailored, polished spaces and precise, considered approach, Nina Maya Interiors has built a reputation for its unique customization of interiors to suit each individual project and client. The holistic home maintained its deep luxury lines but went completely minimal. The colourful floor was replaced by white porcelain tiles, indoors and out, to merge both spaces. The lightning, curtains and upholstery were bespoke and custom-made in Australia.  The redesign also had the help of creatives Ollie Tanner and Ashley Corbett-Smith who hand-forged lights, fashioned tables and cast installations with a Noguchi-like regard for organic form and soothing psychic energy. The holistic luxury home surely is different from the former minister iconic style and personality. But the balance between gravitas, levity and maverick design serves the memory of Hawke who always looked for happiness. A Graceful West Village Townhouse by Amie Sachs

A couple fell in love with a West Village Townhouse. Amie Sachs took over the scene to design a graceful interior for the expanding family. A celebrated music executive and his auction house director wife fell in love with a 1901 Georgian-style West Village Townhouse. The previous owner had a renovation done by the AD100 Steven Harris Architects. Even though the new owners wanted to preserve some elements of the previous revamping, they felt the urge to introduce some practical changes, adapted to their expanding family. The creative couple enlisted architect Amie Sachs, who recently started her own practice after parting ways with Annabelle Selldorf’s firm. AMIE SACHS Born into a family that values creativity and with a background in architecture, Amie Sachs became passionate about it when exploring Italy, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe. Back in the USA, Amie Sachs led commercial and residential projects at Sam Trimble Design and Selldorf Architects before founding her own company, Amie Sachs Architect. WEST VILLAGE TOWNHOUSE The owners wanted to turn the West Village Townhouse into a place where a family can grow but also where friends can meet. To do that, Amie Sachs created romantic and whimsy moments in each room. In the dining room, for instance, the architect sets a dramatic lighting fixture, a treelike installation in bronze and porcelain that climbs up the wall and across the ceiling, above the modern dining table. A round sofa in green velvet creates this bipolar dimension – it is refined enough to enjoy a good evening with friends and comfortable enough to create remarkable moments with family around the table. Throughout the townhouse, Amie Sachs and Penelope August, another Selldorf Architects alumna, used an intentional and unified palette. Green, burgundy and blue are in several elements of the West Village Townhouse, from upholstery to decorative objects and even tiles. The homeowners had returned from a trip to Kyoto with ideas about blooming flowers, gardens, and nature imagery. At the West Village Townhouse, the interior is filled with flowered patterns and green elements creating a graceful environment. If most of the residence is anchored in ideas about the garden, flowers, and greenery, the top floor is about connecting with the sky. Amie Sachs creates a space that is both perfect for a family movie-night snuggle or a nightcap with old friends. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN? A Brutalist House in Athens That Nods to Minimalism

10AM Lofts in Athens is a six-storey warehouse. The 1970s industrial building hosts an events venue, 4 apartments, and a brutalist house. A six-storey warehouse in downtown Athens is simultaneously a multifunctional venue, 4 apartments, and a luxe brutalist house. The Barcelona-based Studio Andrew Trotter in collaboration with the local studio Gavalas Ioannidou Architecture, Eva Papadaki, as well as a number of other designers and artists took over the renovation of this 1970s industrial building in Athens, Greece. As a result, 10AM Lofts, the building and the concept, is a rough diamond. 10AM LOFTS 10AM Lofts is ‘a venue, a penthouse and four lofts in a former six-storey warehouse in downtown Athens, available for film-photo productions, events, dinners, exhibitions, residence, artistic inspiration and collaboration.’ The exceptional architecture project was designed by a collective of artists and for creativity. Creativity knows no limits, neither does the concept of 10AM Lofts. The brutalist design fuels the idea that the work is still in progress, in an ever-evolving pad. While the multifunctional venue is split across 3 floors – the ground floor, the basement, and a mezzanine – and it can be used as one or divided into different size spaces. The space is rentable for events, exhibitions, special dinners, shootings, and other creative purposes by anyone who wants to. To access the basement, guests descend a twisted steel staircase. While the ground floor (and the mezzanine) had walls painted white a couple of new windows to bright up the space, the basement remains dim with only a handful of pendant lamps and narrow openings in the ceiling to illuminate the area. On the 3rd and 4th floor there are four habitable apartments. The fifth and sixth floor of the 1970s industrial building in Athens belongs to a luxe two-storey brutalist house. THE BRUTALIST HOUSE ATOP 10AM LOFTS An open plan, luxury, penthouse loft apartment split across the building’s 5th and 6th floors. On the first floor, the large living-dining-kitchen area opens to a study with a large sofa that also acts as a second bedroom. A passage leads to a very special bathroom with glass on both sides, a large stand-alone bath, and a shower room, both with spectacular views. The second floor is home to the main bedroom and a huge terrace that offers views to the Acropolis, the Lycabettus hill, and the Athens riviera. This penthouse is a tale of two opposites; an open space, yet with a dark palette of colors. This dark palette makes the place feel cool in the summer months, sensuous with raw luxury. It turns the view into a unique art piece as well. In the interior of the brutalist home, we find black stone flooring, dark wood cabinets, and lime-washed walls. This brutalist design language is unique for the Mediterranean interior design of Athens’ interiors. Heavy sand-colored linen curtains, brutalist furniture such as rough-looking center tables, and vintage furniture and decorative elements add warmth to the raw concrete penthouse. The brutalist home among the busy city of Athens is an oasis of peace. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN? A Kid-Friendly Home In Tribeca by Edward Yedid That Is A Masterclass

A kid-friendly home in Tribeca designed by Edward Yedid is an interior design masterclass on how to design a family-friendly home with flair. When designing a child-oriented family home, some technical features are mandatory for the well-being of children and the family. Rounded furniture, kid-friendly paint, washable fabrics, stimulating colors and patterns, plenty of storage, nature imagery, and pedagogical rooms like a study or relax room are just a few of the elements for good kid-friendly home design. Edward Yedid, cofounder and partner of GRADE New York, teaches how to design a family-friendly home without losing sophistication and luxury. Tribeca Family Residence is the name of this high-end residential project whose main inspiration is the magic world of a child’s mind. EDWARD YEDID, GRADE NEW YORK Edward Yedid is alongside Thomas Hickey founder and partner of GRADE New York. Since GRADE‘S founding in 2004, the design studio has been delivering living spaces that are exactly what Edward Yedid and Thomas Hickey think they should be – ordered, inviting, artful and enduring. By integrating architecture and interior design from the outset, the New York-based creative studio creates the most beautiful, balanced, and cohesive solutions. Taking worldwide inspiration, GRADE‘s commitment is one – to deliver contemporary beauty for balanced living fuels at each unique space that Edward Yedid and Thomas Hickey design. Their work is grounded in historical precedent and informed by context with a view to the future. TRIBECA FAMILY RESIDENCE, A KID-FRIENDLY HOME BY GRADE NEW YORK Tribeca Residence Home, named by GRADE honors its location. The kid-friendly home sits only two blocks away from the Hudson River, in a once upon a time area of New York City filled with factories. This historical context explains the striking industrial structure of this family home, a colorful, artful, inviting, and sophisticated pad. The inviting, playful kid-friendly home design is all things light, bright and soft, with a focus on custom millwork for the children’s rooms and living room to provide ample but elegant storage, as well as an oak and fluted glass bar unit in the dining area. Beautiful, functional design pieces bridge spaces and create a vibrant, truly personalized environment. A large, double-sided sofa in the living room is the central focus of this area and was designed with soft edges to allow for the children to climb and play safely. In the areas where grown-ups and children meet, Edward Yedid is able to blend two distinctive languages. To illustrate, it happens in the main living room where one muted-color side belongs to parents and their friends while the colorful side belongs to the children. And again, in the dining room and breakfast nook, it is the color gradient that dictates what area belongs to parents and what area belongs to children. Throughout whimsy shapes, statement furniture design, and contemporary artworks, this kid-friendly home fits the world, and the aesthetics, of grown-ups. In this residential interior design project, the most important element is color. Muted tones indicate a shared reality while bolder hues indicate the kids’ reality. While the master bedroom and master bathroom have calm and classic colors, such as blue, grey, black, and white, the kids’ bedrooms and bathrooms are injected with vibrant and playful hues, such as electric blue and yellow. Spaces that children share with grown-ups have this unique and cohesive tone of voice. The contemporary art pieces with strong identity are present everywhere, kitchen included. As a matter of fact, separating the kitchen and the dining area is an installation that allows the children to play with it. Edward Yedid really teaches a masterclass on how to design a family-friendly interior design project with this kid-friendly home. The art pieces play an essential role, alongside color, in creating a cohesive design language. Not only do they define the mood of each distinct space, but they also are bold, abstract, and impactful, carrying the same enthusiastic energy as a child. The Memphis Design style is the soul of this residential interior design project. The kid-friendly home decor has neon, primary and pastel colors, geometric shapes, as well as bold, repetitive patterns. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN? If during the pandemic homes and rooms were thought differently, the concept of bathroom is still evolving. Bathrooms in 2022 are more refined and airy but more natural and useful. If the bathroom design on-trend appeals to more accessories and decorative elements, it also appeals to proximity to outdoor life, self-care moments, and everything else that contributes to finding some sort of inner peace. 1. TERRACOTTA FEELING Terracotta is one of the biggest 2022 interior design trends, not only in color but also in texture. Every home will have a pinch of terracotta feeling. Warm browns, golden yellow, orange, and pink should be the color palette to kick start your bathroom design or bathroom renovation. For a full terracotta feeling, plaster adds that imperfect, captivating, and seductive texture. 2. SPA AESHTETICS With wellness on top of all interior design projects’ briefing, home wellness achieves a whole new level on bathrooms. STONES WITH EXTRAVAGANT TEXTURES Texture is an essential element of a good interior design project. Nevertheless, this year texture is mandatory in bathroom design. Stones with glaze-looking surfaces and extravagant patterns, from marble to onyx, have no quantity limitations for a modern bathroom design. For this reason, furniture, wallpaper, and decorative elements with nature motifs are one of the bathroom trends in 2022. 5. The Neutral and Natural Home Of Tinder Co-Founder Sean Rad

The home of Tinder co-founder Sean Rad in Los Angeles is airy, modern, neutral, and natural. A design by AD100 Jane Hallworth. JANE HALLWORTH Jane Hallworth approaches design as a synthesis of architecture, decoration, and landscape. A native of England, Hallworth opened her interior design practice in Los Angeles in 2000 after receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture. She soon developed a loyal following among actors and other creative talents who share her passion for storytelling through design. Equally fluent in traditional and contemporary design languages, Hallworth has collaborated with many architects, including Howard Backen, Mark Rios, Marc Appleton, Candace Miller, and Scott Mitchell. She has also restored many historic homes by the likes of Paul Williams, A. Quincy Jones, Paul Laszlo, George Washington Smith, and Lloyd Wright. The through-line for these far-flung projects is her belief that suitability always overrules fashion. Jane Hallworth is one of the best in business, as mentioned in AD100. THE TINDER CO-FOUNDER HOME IN LA The home of Tinder co-founder Sean Rad in Los Angeles is airy, modern, neutral, and natural. A couple is always the union of two distinctive personalities as long as they match. That’s what the Tinder app works on, and that was also Jane Hallworth’s briefing – to design a home to Tinder co-founder Sean Rag and his wife, Lizzie Grover Rag. If Lizzie Grover Rad is more mellow-chic with an eye of classicism, Sean Rag is more of a minimalist seeking strange, compelling objects. Nevertheless, Jane Hallworth designs a home that has a concise language. The home is wrapped in natural – and luxe – materials. For instance, Rad’s office walls are French oak, while the baths are entirely Breccia Capraia marble. The home is wrapped in natural – and luxe – materials. For instance, Rad’s office walls are French oak, while the baths are entirely Breccia Capraia marble. Raw materials are repeatedly found around the house – wood is the lead character, followed by leather, and stone. Despite the organic look, due to the neutral color palette and the widespread natural materials, it would be wrong to think Tinder co-founder home is wholly minimalist. Sean Rag’s home is outfitted with design furniture and exquisite objects. With a subtle demeanor, the home of Tinder co-founder Sean Rag in Los Angeles is luxurious and extravagant. The varied design objects and furniture pieces are unified by a unique balance. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN?
