A native of England, Hallworth opened her interior design practice in Los Angeles in 2000 after receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture. She soon developed a loyal following among actors and other creative talents who share her passion for storytelling through design.

Equally fluent in traditional and contemporary design languages, Hallworth has collaborated with many architects, including Howard Backen, Mark Rios, Marc Appleton, Candace Miller, and Scott Mitchell. She has also restored many historic homes by the likes of Paul Williams, A. Quincy Jones, Paul Laszlo, George Washington Smith, and Lloyd Wright. The through-line for these far-flung projects is her belief that suitability always overrules fashion.

That’s what the Tinder app works on, and that was also Jane Hallworth’s briefing – to design a home to Tinder co-founder Sean Rag and his wife, Lizzie Grover Rag. If Lizzie Grover Rad is more mellow-chic with an eye of classicism, Sean Rag is more of a minimalist seeking strange, compelling objects. Nevertheless, Jane Hallworth designs a home that has a concise language.

The home is wrapped in natural – and luxe – materials. For instance, Rad’s office walls are French oak, while the baths are entirely Breccia Capraia marble.

Despite the organic look, due to the neutral color palette and the widespread natural materials, it would be wrong to think Tinder co-founder home is wholly minimalist. Sean Rag’s home is outfitted with design furniture and exquisite objects.
