AN AMAZING APARTMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE A FAIRYTALE

In St. Petersburg you will find an amazing apartment that looks like a scenery of Rapunzel. It isn’t a doorless tower, but this top floor apartment on a palatial building has a generous 22-meter ceiling. THE RAPUNZEL-STYLE APARTMENT Unlike the fairytale, this amazing apartment has a lot of doors and windows but it wasn’t so much attractive for new buyers. Maria Grudina, however, saw its potential and went for it. “It was the princess’s tower that every girl dreams about from childhood,” she says. Maria went on to hire St. Petersburg-based interior designer Tim Veresnovsky to turn up the property into a creative studio, where her imagination could run wild.   Tim and Maria already met from previous design projects of Maria’s properties around the world. So, she trusted that Tim was going to make her dreams come true. Despite Russian interior design can tend to be conservative, Tim has a way of bringing his clients out of their comfort zone. With him, anyone can be brave. His international vision makes his aesthetic way over the edge. ABOUT TIM VERESNOVSKY Tim Verenovsky’s work always includes a lot of custom-made items, alongside rare vintage pieces of furniture made in smaller, independent factories. He believes it is these features that make the interior of a place unique and eye-catching. He chooses his clients very carefully, working with those who have an open mind. That’s why, as a rule, all his craziest ideas tend to be approved by his clients. THE SWING BETWEEN MONOCHROME AND COLOURFUL Maria and Tim’s partnership resulted in a charming design oddity. The apartment is a mix between monochrome minimalism and kaleidoscopic color. In summary it is the marriage between Russian conservatism and Disney pop. Before, the apartment couldn’t get much of natural light. But Tim changed it. The designed broadened the living room windows and turned his attentions to the walls. Don’t forget the ceiling, with a custom-made chandelier that evokes the lights of Orthodox churches. The traditional Russian architecture is compensated by the cartoon-pop details. A Mickey Mouse artwork and dazzling tapestries affirm this home’s fantastical counterculture. Maria’s dream and Tim’s boldness definitely turned this house into an amazing apartment out of a fairytale. A Beach Apartment With Glamour Vibes For A Colorful Lifestyle

Getting a beach apartment in times of pandemic is a dream for most families. This holiday home combines glamour vibes with beach motifs for a colorful lifestyle. A BEACH APARTMENT WITH GLAMOUR VIBES The pandemic made this Sydney family move from the eastern suburbs to a 70’s apartment in Bondi Beach. An iconic location with spectacular views where they could live a new lifestyle with holiday vibes. The unrenovated beach apartment needed some work from interior designer Greg Natale. His bold and individual approach was crucial to give the new home a beachy look without the classic coastal style. ABOUT GREG NATALE Since its launch in 2001, Greg Natale Design has brought its expertise in architecture and interior design to the creation of stunning, sophisticated and unforgettable spaces. The bold use of pattern and colour for which Greg Natale is known has become one of the practice’s signature features, together with an intricate approach to layering that speaks of luxe livability. These have contributed to making Greg Natale Design one of Australia’s top design firms and Greg himself one of its most sought-after talents. The challenge was to make this space entertaining and relaxing. It had to accommodate a couple and their three children and dog. The exterior had been recently renovated so the focus was on the inside. The clients let Natale express his creativity so he went “full-on extravaganza”. Greg felt inspired by the Art-Deco buildings across the road and the colors and forms surrounding the three-bedroom apartment. The house had a typical 70’s layout so the first order of business was to create an open concept that later inspired the circle motif. The interior designer also added ocean and beach elements maintaining a luminous space that mixed contemporary and mid-century furniture. Natale was able to make this apartment feel much bigger than it is, mastering the space perceptions and combining with colours and furniture that suited perfectly in the space. A TERRACE OVERLOOKING THE SEA The showpiece of the apartment was the terrace. With Almafi tiles that evoked the chic glamour style that made the space pop. The entire mood of the beach apartment is relaxed yet glamourous making this family feel like they live on holiday 24/7. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN? new york apartments

These are the 12 most beautiful New York apartments

New York City apartments come with a major rule: creativity. How to be unique in one of the biggest cities in the world? That is the challenge for architects and interior designers. Architects and interior designers have to get creative and think differently. New York clients have high standards and unique demands to get the home to pop up from the crowd. These are the most beautiful New York apartments to get some inspiration. 1. MICHAEL KORS’ PENTHOUSE Michael Kors and husband, Lance Le Pee, live in high-flying yet down-to-earth style, in their Greenwich Village penthouse. Although its not so tiny, the apartment as a two-bedroom in plan which is wrapped by a lush terrace with open views south to the the World Trade Center, west to the Hudson River, and yonder in every direction. Kors quite literally has the world at his feet. The apartment is fully customized with a combination of very clean with touches of warmth and texture. 2. THE ELEGANT LOFT IN SOHO In Soho, the building was originally a textile warehouse. Then adapted to an artists’ studios and apartments and now was transformed to a residential home for a family of three. The makeover pays tribute to the original history of the building. By preserving the original details, interior designer Jessica Schuster worked to create a new dialogue between past and present. 3. ELSA HOSK’S LOFT Still in Soho is the house of supermodel Elsa Hosk. The uber-loft, projected by the supermodel herself, is a result of her high standards and unique lifestyle. Elsa looked for comfort and welcoming vibes, creating a space with soft and cosy nooks. It is, definitely, a dream home came true. 4. BAZ LUHRMANN’S HOME Creative power couple Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin have one of the most theatrical and expressive homes in New York. When moving to the five-storey townhouse, the couple wanted to find quality of life maintaining their creativity and personality. The result is a house with an effortless mix of antique and modern sensibilities. 5. THE STYLISH BROOKLYN LOFT Transforming a Brooklyn loft into a sophisticated yet approachable family home was the challenge for architect Giancarlo Valle. When designing his own home, Valle took into account his South American roots and his European ties, which are expressed in the furniture and colorful hues. HOMMÉS STUDIO LUNARYS COLLECTION 6. THE GOLDEN GIRLS’ INSPIRED HOUSE Clinton Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn presents a 19th century brownstone recently transform into a fruitful and colorful apartment. New owners wanted a completely reworked design that reflected their singular tastes. One of them being a room that recalled Blanch Deveraux’s banana leaf-themed bedroom from The Golden Girls. 7. A BALLROOM APARTMENT The Manhattan ballrooms are not easy to find these days. But on this uptown building, one grand salon is now the home of Remy Renzullo, a decorator with a soft spot for aristocratic interiors. The space is an odd to Renzullo particular style. Combining antique furniture, selected art and bold painted walls, this house is a work in progress for Renzullo who “don’t believe any room is ever done”. 8. A SMALL SPACE WITH A BIG PERSONALITY Working as an interior designer for small spaces is already a challenge. More so if the client wants an apartment with a big personality. It takes some creative thinking. That is the result of this Lower East Side project, a functional, cozy and smart place. The design is a mash-up of 70’s style details and modern pieces, taking advantage of the lack of storage into an opportunity to create brand new shapes built off the walls. 9. A LUXURIOUS SPACE IN MANHATTAN This Upper West Side apartment is luxury in its core. The neutral hues and the curated furniture are the perfect balance of vintage, antique, contemporary and custom made. Designed by Anna Karlin, who knows how to go beyond the limits of creativity, the space feels eclectic without being cluttered, sophisticated yet casual. The perfect result for a happy home. 10. GWYNETH PALTROW’S TRIBECA LOFT  Just sold, Gwyneth Paltrow’s stunning apartment is a serene yet playful space. Designed by Roman and Williams, whose style is traditionally darker and more layered, Paltrow’s apartment has a white and bright palette, creating a romantic vibe. 11. A DREAMY AND FEMININE SPACE Sophisticated, fresh and pink are some words that can describe Fallon Jewellery designer Dana Lorenz’s New York apartment. The home is the perfect balance of cosy and design-led, with a touch of luxe perfectly suited to the Upper East Side address. 12. THE MINIMALIST TOWNHOUSE This Fort Green Home is a match between architecture, art and design. The modern interiors were designed by Jae Joo who wanted an ode to the past while nodding to the future. Despite the multiple changes, the building’s original features were maintained keeping the house original soul. With Joo’s minimalistic style, the multistoried home feels intimate and unique. N’insul Hotel- The Perfect Unity of Art, Civilization and Nature

Representing the important history of many different regions in China, this wild luxury hotel is the perfect unity of art, civilization and nature. Located in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region shapotou Town, Yellow River Zuji, it represents more than just its looks. Liu Liang, before designing, learned a lot about Ningxia Hui, one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, its history, culture, and visited the area multiple times. In order to understand the best way to approach the design, she had to commit to learning about its origin. Liu Liang felt the beauty and the power of nature. She managed through her design to explain the past and with original ingenuity completed her design. The design of this wild luxury hotel is created through different projections. Natural elements combine perfectly with the design. Every space tells a story, the jujube tree in the entrance of the courtyard or the arrangements in the outdoor space with haystack tents, create this pure, warm, quiet and luxurious hotel found in nature. INSIDE THE HOTEL Walking in the hotel, feels like an embrace of the important history that it represents. The warm and earthy colors used in the design seem to represent the tranquility through original art of the culture. The indoor spaces and the rooms themselves are filled with serenity. The Art Nouveau Restaurant Inside St Pancras Renaissance Hotel

Booking Office 1869 is the splendid Art Nouveau restaurant inside the iconic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London. Harry Handelsman, owns one of the most envious real estate portfolios in London. Being the owner of Manhattan Loft Corporation, the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel is in his possession. Since the opening of the Renaissance Hotel in 1873 until this day, the building in the heart of London functions as a mirror for the city’s life. It was a hotspot in the Victorian’s industrial era, then it ended up as an outpost for illegal raves during the 1980s. Now, on the post-pandemic living of the 21st Century, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel intends to mirror a new way of living, a new cultural manifestation, within the city of London. Booking Office 1869 is the new restaurant and bar inaugurated in November 2021 on St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London. What’s so special about this haute couture eatery? The Booking Office 1869 is inside a Gothic Revival structure with elevated framed windows on arched breaches. Yet, the ceiling of the restaurant leads us back to the industrial area, with its warehouse-looking panels. These architectonic fixtures are as enigmatic as compelling. The interior with a unique glamour only highlights Harry Handelsman’s acute vision that Hugo Toro sculptured. HUGO TORO AND HARRY HANDELSMAN HUGO TORO Trained in Austria, in the US, and in France, it is in Paris that the Franco-Mexican architect Hugo Toro settles his practice and evolves as an architect and interior designer. Hugo Toro has endeavored to produce a narrative architecture for each project by integrating both the context and the constraints of each place. His portfolio includes restaurant design, such as Perruche, Grand Café Capucine and La Scène, private apartments, for instance, the Léopold apartment and the Turbigo apartment, as well as commercial and hospitality interior design projects. In 2021, Hugo Toro designed the interior design of the Orient Express boutique at La Samaritaine, the restaurant Gigi de Ramatuelle and prepared the opening of Gigi Paris. Abroad, his most notorious project of 2021 is the Booking Office 1869 restaurant and bar at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London. HARRY HANDELSMAN Real Estate developer and owner of the Manhattan Loft Corporation, Harry Handelsman is a man that makes beautiful, impactful buildings. Born in Germany, raised in France and Belgium and educated in Canada, it was New York, and the artists he met in Manhattan, that inspired Harry to develop the concept of London loft-living. Upon moving to the capital, he found a property market in need of new ideas but blessed with great buildings. The tired façades of the capital’s old factories and warehouses hid the huge windows and high ceilings he was looking for. Harry’s eye for scalable beauty and clockwork instinct for a postcode’s potential transformed these derelict structures in unloved locations into some of the most desirable destinations in London, such as Chiltern Firehouse, one of London’s oldest fire stations reborn as its most talked-about restaurant, bar and hotel, Manhattan Loft Gardens, an extraordinary tower of expansive living spaces, three sky gardens and a design hotel, Ealing Studios, a sprawling state-of-the-art hub, uniting the best of British film, TV, music, and technology under one iconic roof, and, of course, and the ‘too beautiful and too romantic to survive’ St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. ST PANCRAS RENAISSANCE HOTEL LONDON ‘Too beautiful and too romantic to survive’ is the impression we get of St Pancras Renaissance Hotel on Kings Cross. In the early 1990s, the Renaissance Hotel was a crumbling ruin in a desolate neighborhood of London. Once a crowning jewel of Victorian London, the hotel fell out of favor as it moved into the 20th century, largely because its rooms lacked basic structures, such as bathrooms. In 1997, Harry Handelsman embarked on a million-costly renovation project due to the need of preserving the historic elements of the space. About 500 art restorers hand-painted the fleur-de-lis and medieval manuscript illuminations that decorate the walls, while a team of architects and specialist contractors worked to outfit the space with modern amenities without disrupting original features. When the hotel opened in 2011, it was a staggering achievement of architectural renovation and, perhaps most significantly, offered people a desirable place to spend time in rather than a site most people simply passed through. Nowadays, the once-forgotten neighborhood of Kings Cross pomps youth and creative energy. BOOKING OFFICE 1869 Booking Office 1869 restaurant and bar inaugurated in November 2021, located in the former ticket office of St Pancras station, on the Renaissance Hotel. What’s so special about this haute couture eatery? Every aspect of its redesign has been masterminded by Hugo Toro.  The Franco-Mexican architect and interior designer has designed almost every aspect of the Booking Office 1869, from the chandeliers and the chairs to the upholstery fabrics and the minuscule strips of metal grating that skirt some of the booths. Hugo Toro worked on memory triggers – design elements that penetrate the mind of visitors, prioritizing emotion rather than looks. The result of Hugo Toro’s work is an ultra-glamorous yet ultra-cozy space. A space to enjoy good food, to have a drink, a pleasing meeting, even a date. Despite the grandeur of the Art Nouveau style, Booking Office 1869 is about comfort. The curvy shapes steal the attention of visitors, giving back the feeling to stay involved by the timeless atmosphere. Even though the restaurant and bar at St Pancras Hotel is a new addition to the hospitality unit – and to the city of London -, it feels like it has always been there. The Contemporary Apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya In Moscow

The contemporary apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya in Moscow is the cover of the AD Russia December/January 2022 issue. The modern interior design project is a pleasing composition of simple geometric lines. HOMMÉS Studio furniture is a key player in the contemporary design narrative in the historic center of Moscow. An apartment conceived by Anna Zinkovskaya for her own family but with an unexpected twist. THE CONTEMPORARY APARTMENT OF ANNA ZINKOVSKAYA IN MOSCOW The contemporary apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya in Moscow is the cover of the AD Russia December/January 2022 issue. The briefing came from Anna Zinkovskaya. To recover a building in the historic center of Moscow. Limited to certain streets, the interior designer Anna Zinkovskaya and her husband found a pearl among the estate of Denis Davydov. The history of this building, and its series of renovations, left very little from the original aesthete. The apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya in Moscow was built between the late 18th and beginning of the 19th century, only to be burnt down by 1870. At that time, the architect Alexander Ober rebuilt the property, and finally, in the Soviet 1930s, three more floors were added. After the renovation, Anna Zinkovskaya had finally her canvas to work on – high ceilings, large windows, and a house full of history in the heart of Moscow. The apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya in Moscow was redesigned to meet the needs of the modern life of the 21st century. For the renovation, the Russian talent designed a long corridor and placed all the rooms along with it. There is a master suite, two nurseries with their own dressing room and bathroom, an office, a living room, an isolated kitchen, utility rooms, and plenty of storage space.  The master bedroom is a harmonious recreation of the classicism of the 19th century. A vintage chandelier, an upholstered headboard, and carpeted flooring. The nightstand is the Klimt Side Table – a wood marquetry composition designed by Hommés Studio. KLIMT SIDE TABLE BY HOMMÉS STUDIO Nevertheless, a classic structural fixture was kept – the front living room. The apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya in Moscow is perfect symmetry. A big wall with three floor-to-ceiling windows that light up the main character of this contemporary storyline – the heart of the house, commonly known as the living room. YVES SIDE TABLE BY HOMMÉS STUDIO Perpendicular to this marvelous wall, there are two parallel walls, mirroring each other with different decorative elements. On one side wall, there’s a modern sideboard with a big printed digital collage atop. On the opposite side wall, a 19th-century fireplace portal is sided by Bauhaus-esques two chairs in steel and primary yellow. The core of the heart of the house, commonly known as the living room, is the Utah Center Table by Hommés Studio. The unapologetic contemporary coffee table mimics the Moab pools of the Utah Desert with a mosaic of marbles. Surrounded by a curved sofa with clean lines, this comfy seating main character finds on the end of each side a Yves Side Table by Hommés Studio. The mirror when added to the mirroring modern side tables is a harmonious semicircle. UTAH CENTER TABLE Even though the renovation of the contemporary apartment of Anna Zinkovskaya in Moscow was completed, the interior designer and her family never moved in. Anna Zinkovskaya and her husband decided to sell it. Led by family affairs and the curiosity to enter the real estate market. Luckily, the buyers were found in record time – a young couple with two children, who asked Anna Zinkovskaya to decorate the space for them.  The entire interior design project is the cover of AD Russia December/January issue. The Juxtaposition Of Classicism And Contemporary In The Heart Of Paris

The juxtaposition of Classicism and Contemporary in the heart of Paris, on a home in the Isle of Saint-Louis decorated by Vincenzo de Cotiis. There’s a short and exclusive list of people that could ever live on the Isle of Saint-Louis, a small island in the heart of Paris, right on the Seine River. However, Pierre Hardy, the creative director of Hermès, and Christopher Turnier, his husband, and CEO of Pierre Hardy, the luxury footwear and accessories brand, are part of the dreamers that could afford a 17th-century flat on one of the most exclusive locations in Paris. And they did. When they first entered the property, they knew they had to hire Vicenzo De Cotiis to decorate it and inject a modern soul into the historic building. VICENZO DE COTIIS AND THE JUXTAPOSITION OF CLASSICISM AND CONTEMPORARY Vicenzo De Cotiis is an architect born in Italy. His work is a love story of time and space. For this reason, the Italian architect and interior designer could create the perfect home for Pierre Hardy and Christopher Turnier. The first time Vicenzo De Cotiis visited the property on the Isle Of Saint-Louis, in the heart of Seine, the Italian interior designer thought that the property was just perfect. As a matter of fact, the unique location, the airy rooms, and the amount of natural light, in addition to wood-crafted walls and Bon Boulloge frescoes (mostly on the ceilings) make the property untouchable. To Vicenzo De Cotiis, resecting the historic architecture and the building’s authentic features was mandatory. For this reason, the Italian designer limited its imagination to the renovation of utility spaces, such as bathrooms and kitchen, and to a curated cluster of furniture, home accessories, and artworks. It is exactly this respect for the original structure and aesthete that lead Vicenzo De Cotiis to create a beautiful juxtaposition of Classicism and Contemporary. A luxury home in Paris that is as French as worldwide. At Pierre Hardy and Christopher Turnier’s home, Vicenzo De Cotiis mixes a cocktail of 17th-century architecture, modernist paintings, midcentury modern furniture, and contemporary works of art, such as Robert Mapplethorpe photos. This luxury home in Paris, atop the Seine river, is the utmost beauty between past and present, and the manifestation of love, art, and timelessness. Many elements were demolished and the building’s structure was kept to a minimum. The renovation resulted in larger spaces, a broader diffusion of natural light, warm light walls, and ceilings. The interior is mainly neutrals with some colorful pigments popping, such as navy blue, light blue, and yellow. Victoria-Maria’s love for color is manifested on trendy rugs. Art Collector’s Paris Apartment Where Takashi Murakami Panels Are King

Cathy Vedoni and Benoit Dupuis renovated a historic apartment in Paris designed by Jansen where three Takashi Murakami panels are king. The revival of a Paris apartment in Paris of an art collector couple was the first commissioned interior design project of Cathy Vedovi. Trained in Fashion Design and simultaneously daughter and wife to art dealers, Vedovi was assigned with the task of renovating and redecorating a 3,875-square-foot space in an Art Deco building. Originally designed by Jansen, the building’s good bones had been chopped up into offices prior to the acquisition of a Parisian couple of art dealers. Benoit Dupuis, the creator of boutiques for Christian Louboutin and homes for Keith Richards, joined Cathy Vedovi in the design journey of remodeling a historic apartment in Paris where Takashi Murakami panels are king. CATHY VEDOVI AND BENOIT DUPUIS DEBUT On its debut, the design team took advantage of the original rooms featured ample windows and clean-lined proportions. Having free rein, Cathy Vedovi and Benoit Dupuis unleashed a daring approach to the interior of the art collector’s apartment in Paris. On a project that was the first of its kind for Cathy Vedovi. Keeping the Art Deco flair, Vedovi and Dupuis brought a sleek and contemporary approach to interior design in an art-driven interior project. Even though the interior design and the architect had free rein, the art collector’s couple has one request – walls expansive and sturdy enough to hang three enormous Takashi Murakami panels. According to Benoit Dupuis, in an apartment lacking long views, the Takashi Murakami paintings create a landscape and add a sense of depth and perspective. The entryway keeps its art deco charm with a touch of contemporary. For instance, the symmetric doors that open up to the interior of this Paris apartment are mirrored, a Dupuis’ copy of the Jansen’s originals. In addition, there’s a marble floor with a hypnotic black and the white sun bursting with parallel seating areas in the round entrance. A small Damien Hirst artworks the focal point of the primary room of the historic house. An interesting feature of the bathroom is the original mirror doors by Jansen – that Benoit Dupuis imitates in the entryway – as well as the modern Travertine stone vanity. The kitchen of this apartment in Paris where Takashi Murakami panels take the spotlight, well-appointed decor accents – such as the monochromatic floor, the Portuguese tiles, compelling lighting fixtures, and a brass countertop make it no ordinary kitchen. PARIS APARTMENT WHERE TAKASHI MURAKAMI MURALS REING The maximalist dining room is one of the rooms hosting one of the Takashi Murakami panels. A hand-stenciled bamboo pattern wallpaper is a backdrop for the painting. The room is furnished with a vintage 1960s dining table and Jansen chairs – these are some of the original Jansen design pieces that unify the past and present of this art collector’s apartment in Paris. The main bedroom is another one of the rooms where Takashi Murakami panels are king. Again, Jansen objects link the original design to the contemporary interpretation of Cathy Vedovi and Benoit Dupuis. For instance, the bed foot and the lamps atop nightstands are a Jansen design. On one side of the living room, a mirrored wall surrounds the fireplace which is the focal point of the angular spot of the living room. On the opposite side of the living room is another one of the three Takashi Murakami panels. The extensive artwork creates a surrealist landscape on a neutral, muted, color palette. This year’s program features both online and offline events which include talks, installations and exhibitions from top and emerging artists, designers and architects which you can visit across the city with a reinforced program on London’s Ten Design Districts and Victoria & Albert Museum. For interior design professionals, London Design Festival 2021 debuts an event that will steal your attention – the first edition of Design London is taking place at Magazine London on 22-25 September. Discover Part I of this art and events guide here. For the program of London Design Festival 2021 Part I keep reading this article. EXHIBITIONS AND INSTALLATIONS TACTILE BALTICS Tactile Baltics is an exhibition that showcases designs from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Organized in collaboration with the Latvian Design Centre and the Lithuanian Design Forum, the Shoreditch-based show hopes to draw attention to Baltic design through an eclectic mix of furniture, lighting and textiles. While not much has been revealed about the themes, the region has a “deep-rooted connection to nature”, according to the exhibition organizers. The exhibition runs at London Design Festival between 18 September – 3 October. 100 DAYS OF GRATITUDE What are you grateful for? Over a 100-day period, illustrator Justyna Green has been asking that question to a diverse group of creatives and has been drawing their answers as well. Nature, morning coffees and family life (pets included), are some themes of Justyna Green’s drawings. Her illustrations are now on display for London Design Festival. Some illustrated prints will also be available to buy at the exhibition. Proceeds going towards Endometriosis UK. 100 Days of Gratitude runs at London Design Festival between 18 September – 3 October. AGAINST THE GRAIN Arts platform Fels and Jan Hendzel Studio have collaborated on materials and innovation-focused exhibition Against the Grain. Opening at Peckham’s Copeland Gallery, the show promises objects from unexpected mediums, all created with sustainable principles. Featured designers include Attua Aparicio, Marco Campardo and Tom Dixon. Jan Hendzel, whose eponymous studio won the 2021 Design Week award for furniture design, says that the exhibits will showcase sustainable practices – from quality materials to unique processes – and “showcase them to the wider community”. Fels co-founders Oscar Mitchell and Finbar Conran put on their debut show, Where Things Fall Down, over the summer. Against the Grain runs at London Design Festival between 18 September – 27 September. BIOMIMICRY COLLECTION, AUROBOROS Auroboros, is a fashion house that merges science and technology with both haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion, similar to Iris Van Herpen’s creative proces, founded by Paula Sello and Alissa  Aulbekova. This display will showcase a real-time growing couture gown worn by Ai-Da, the world’s first artist robot. Mimicking nature’s life cycle, the gown will grow and fall apart during the festival. While the physical piece follows its own life cycle in the exhibit, the digital designs will be available to be experienced virtually using augmented reality, inviting you onsite and online to imagine a new era of design encompassing innovation, sustainability and immersion.   Auroboros is housed at The Sarabande Foundation. DIGITAL ATMOSPHERE, STUDIO ABOVE & BELOW Digital Atmosphere has been created by digital artist duo Daria Jelonek and Perry-James Sugden, known as Studio Above&Below, and offers the opportunity to assess our air quality through art and technology. The sculpture’s sensor can pick up the invisible change of air quality of the space, using an augmented reality simulation. Digital Atmosphere runs at V&A Museum between 25-26 September.
