French Style Home In Shanghai Designed By Nong Studio

The apartment, designed by Nong Studio, is on the top floor of an old house in the French concession in Shanghai. The owner is a couple that yearned to escape from the world to live. The husband is Chinese, and the wife is European. This home is the fusion of one West also reflects incisively and vividly on a design style. The top floor of the old house is a pitched roof of brick and wood structure. Nong Studio removed the former suspended ceiling and wall and restored and retained the charm of the original building. After combing the owner’s life track, the space is divided into private and public, dynamic and static. Nevertheless, it is also divided into functional subdivisions by using the height of the top floor instead of a partition. This design is from the north and south function through, increase lighting and indoor air circulation, thus only to the wall and roof reinforcement, enlarged the roof skylight area. The objective is to reduce the partition in the atmosphere as far as possible. In this way, it is possible to form a sense of flow and indoor and outdoor integration. In the master suite, the master bedroom on the first floor, the master bathroom, and the outdoor terrace are added. Moreover, the second floor of the split floor serves as the cloakroom area for the master bedroom. An open kitchen is added to connect the north and the South to increase ventilation and lighting. Meanwhile, a tea room is set on the split floor. A yoga space on the second floor, a terrace, a guest suite, and additional storage space are set. In order to give the owner the experience of peace, Nong Studio uses a very clean way to redefine the entire space. They only use much smooth curve in space. The only protagonist in a clean space is a breakthrough two real fireplace. It enables the original building in the attic in the flue, implementation to real fire fireplace on the function and visual change. In the winter, it is possible to bring one or two friends, wine, tea, burn incense, on the impermanence of the world. Soft furnishings mix old furniture and new furniture, Chinese furniture, and Western furniture. The owner is a travel lover, so the home is full of travel to a collection of countries. Chile tapestries, Morocco’s porch cabinets, Thai utensils, African wood carvings. The original wooden beams, white walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and furniture are full of the charm of blending Chinese and Western elements. The carefully controlled design makes each piece of furniture and artwork have appropriate space. We really hope you liked our article and the interior’s suggestions. Get inspiration from these luxury landscaping design ideas and design a dreamy garden, front porch, backyard patio, or outdoor living room. Even though there are more limitations on front yard landscaping design, due to area dimension or privacy, for instance, it is always possible to upgrade it, to luxe it up. In order words, to literally make an entrance. On another hand, backyard landscaping design is more versatile. Opposing to front yards and porches, backyards usually are bigger, and more intimate. As a result, luxury landscaping design finds its home on the backyard patio of luxury houses. FRONT YARD LUXURY LANDSCAPING DESIGN IDEAS MODERN STONE PATHWAY Stone pathways are a timeless move in landscaping design. If you’re are into a traditional pathway for your front yard landscaping design, we recommend you to choose travertine stone. Travertine stone is naturally available in several hues. Therefore, we believe there is a matching hue for your landscape design project. But if you are more into modern architecture and modern luxury landscaping design, concrete is the go-to. FRONT YARD VERTICAL GARDEN Vertical gardens are still trending. Especially because of the biophilic design trend, since vertical gardens are an aesthetic and efficient way of incorporating nature indoors. But what about installing a vertical garden on your front porch? You can cover entirely your entrance walls, your fence, or create beautiful natural installations on the walls, like art. Either way, vertical gardens are, undoubtedly, a luxury landscaping design statement. FRONT PORCH CONVERSATION SET If your front porch has enough space for it, you definitely should create a conversational area or even a breakfast area. You should take advantage of every room in the house, both indoor and outdoor. If your outdoor living project doesn’t have a backyard, you can still design a cozy and luxurious outdoor patio. TROPICAL FRONT YARD AESTHETIC There’s a charm in palm trees, right? They take us on a journey coast to coast, from Palm Beach to Palm Springs. And we feel the energy of the sun and the wind of the sea. In addition to its summerish looks, a tropical front yard landscaping design exhales luxury. FRONT PORCH SWING CHAIR A swing chair, as much as any other suspended decoration, is a statement of luxury landscaping design. If you’re working on an outdoor living project, make an entrance! Design a front porch with suspended swing chairs, plants, and even art installations. Make it mysterious or romantic, it’s up to you. What really matters is to provoke the eyes of the viewer. MEDITERRANEAN FRONT YARD LUXURY LANDSCAPING DESIGN Mediterranean landscaping design is simple, yet luxurious. If your working on a beach house, the Mediterranean landscape design style is perfect for it. Surround a stone pathway with olive trees, succulents, vases of flowers, and rosemary or lavender. Both rosemary and lavender are highly aesthetic, low-maintain, and will emanate a unique fragrance every time you arrive home. Furthermore, both these plants can be used for the culinary or… to make some delicious cocktails. ADD BUSHES OR A FENCE FOR PRIVACY For a secretive luxury landscaping design, add a fence to your entryway, or bushes. You can also add both, with bushes right next to the fence. Even though you don’t find fences aesthetically pleasing, you can always plant high and robust trees. That will provide enough privacy to your front yard. ILLUMINATE YOUR FRONT YARD There are many reasons to illuminate your front yard, namely security, functionality, or aesthetics. Lighting up your entryway allow you to feel securer in case of an isolated property. It also allows you to design a pathway between your outdoor and indoor areas. Additionally, you can also use light to highlight an architectural feature or a landscape design element besides the light itself. BACKYARD LUXURY LANDSCAPING DESIGN BACKYARD JACUZZI LANDSCAPING DESIGN Backyards mean privacy, right? And want should you do if you love being in the water but are lacking in space for installing an outdoor pool? That’s right. A jacuzzi. Nothing shouts luxury as a jacuzzi. It is eccentric, it’s true. But it also brings many benefits for both body and soul. OUTDOOR POOL LANDSCAPING DESIGN In case of being one of the lucky ones and you are working on an outdoor pool project, your creativity has no boundaries. Designing an outdoor poolside is your chance to pursue a truly luxury landscaping design project. Choose the right pavement, plants, and outdoor furniture. You cannot go wrong with an outdoor pool landscaping design. BACKYARD OUTDOOR BAR A luxury landscaping design with an outdoor pool asks for a backyard outdoor bar as well. It might not be the best feature for a family house’s outdoor patio. However, it is great for a resort-like backyard and to host pool parties. If your client is a party animal, they will love it. BACKYARD VERTICAL GARDENS Vertical gardens are not only stunning for front yards but also for back yards. Backyards vertical gardens are a great option to include some natural elements in urban properties, such as apartments’ backyard patios or rooftops. MEANINGFUL GARDENS Meaningful gardens are a growing trend. In order to have a more responsible and eco-friendly lifestyle, luxury landscaping design has been including sustainable gardens on backyards. What does this mean? Meaningful gardens mean to plant in order to later harvest, such as aromatic herbs, vegetables, and fruit trees. OUTDOOR DINING ROOM Almost everyone dreams about an outdoor dining room. Summer breeze, white wine, fresh fruit. When we think about luxury landscaping design, there’s always a big yard and a dining table somewhere. Even though you don’t have a vineyard to work on, you can always design a memorable outdoor dining room to share great meals and engage in passionate conversations with friends and family. Find Out Which Outdoor Design Trends Will Dominate In 2021

Naturally, outdoor design has become top of mind. Not only because it is almost summer but also because after nearly a year of confinement, our outdoor spaces have become sanctuaries of solace and sanity. The pandemic has reinforced the idea that horticulture is therapy. Nevertheless, green spaces in cities and private outdoor spaces are increasingly valued for improving health and mental wellbeing. These are the outdoor design trends that will dominate in 2021: Gardens with objective We are observing a significant and energizing shift away from the traditional constant plantings and new grasses that have dominated front yards and properties. Many designers see increased demand for dynamic openings in their outdoor design. Such as seating for neighborhood gatherings, sports courts, kids play areas, sculptural features, vegetable beds, mini orchards, medicinal and tea plantings, and beehives. With families of all ages at home now, there is a renewed fascination with kitchen and vegetable gardens. Therefore, the potager, where both flowers and kitchen herbs and vegetables can be combined, makes a big comeback. The world outside your door “We are getting requests for covered outdoor living areas that have all of the comforts of inside on the outside,” says Fernando Wong. Moreover, people want family spaces with everything from big-screen TVs to pizza ovens and billiard tables. They want their homes to look like and have the facilities of their resorts to travel to for vacations. Christine Ten Eyck says that while swimming pools are as popular as ever, it is no longer a case of the bigger, the better. Smaller swimming pools take up less green space in urban properties. They also give the illusion of swimming in a fountain-like water body surrounded by a lush landscape versus a sea of paving. Peaceful plantings It is not just interiors that can surround us from the world’s chaos—people want their gardens to do the same.Formal gardens are less relevant today – people are more interested in creating comfort and serenity. The right plants in the right place can create private and serene settings. Nevertheless, they still are full of interest and color as one moves through them. People are becoming more adventurous. “For a more modern garden, we have been enjoying black and dark burgundy foliage and flowers with accents of light dusty apricot and watery blue,” Kuljian says. “We are also using yellow much more, and it looks great with silver foliage and a charcoal gray backdrop.” Intrusive gardens begone Chief among all the experts’ predictions: Native plants will be essential. Native plantings in residential gardens attract urban wildlife such as birds and pollinators while providing year-round beauty. With the pandemic and climate change looming, interacting with and prioritizing native plants at home is becoming more important to people and the planet. Native plants use less water and provide habitat for urban wildlife, and they are resilient since they belong naturally to the region. Intelligent lighting One of the best ways to expand when the world is in chaos is with soft lighting both inside and out. For outdoor lighting, it is crucial to have areas of darkness and light to highlight the spaces where you want to draw your eye. Always try to aim at lights instead of seeing the light source and trying to shield the bulbs when possible. Moonlighting and downlighting in trees never go out of style with its soft tracery and complies with dark sky ordinances. We really hope you liked our article. Mediterranean Interior Design Style by Blainey North

Allala, a Georgian-Revival-style property in Sydney, is the epitome of modern Mediterranean interior design style. The renovation and interior design were executed by the talented Australian interior designer Blainey North. The property has an imposing entry due to its classic columns. Such a statement was an inspiration to Blaney North. The interior designer decided to keep the classicism and the tradition of the property. Nevertheless, it was crucial to make the interior of this Sydney historic home lighter, brighter, and funnier. The result is a Mediterranean interior design style home. Even though Blaney North dedicates her career to superyacht and Haute hotelarie design, the Australian interior designer embraced this residential project, since she and the owner of the house have known each other since high school. Therefore, this is a very special project. Not only because it is rare for Blainey North to develop residential projects, but also for the intimate relation the designer has with her clientele. MODERN MEDITERRANEAN INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE The interior of Allala is this immaculate white temple. All walls are covered in an ethereal white paint which contrasts with the floor in deep brown. The house is decorated with a classic color palette, namely white, blue, and brown. A signature color palette of Mediterranean-style. There are details in gold almost in every room which add extra sophistication to the Mediterranean interior design style home. Blainey North is very consistent in this interior design project. The master bedroom is all-white, while the childs’ room is baby blue. The home office mixes classic furniture in brown wood with blue armchairs. In addition, in the kitchen, a traditional kitchen island is surrounded by classic bar stools. The property has two dining areas, one is the formal dining area while the other is the casual dining area. Nevertheless, there’s just a blurred line separating these two dining rooms. The bathroom on the ensuite has this Moorish-style flair, with flowered tiles and arcs. Also here blue and white are the predominant colors. Thus, the aesthetic and color of the bathroom reinforce the Mediterranean interior design style. As a whole, this Blainey North interior design project is like a puzzle. Every room matches the following room, and every decorative piece and detail fit in perfectly. BACKYARD PATIO Next to the kitchen, there is a backyard patio. In this open-air area, there is an outdoor dining table, outdoor dining chairs, and a breathtaking landscape. In other words, the backyard patio is the perfect scenario for alfresco dining. Even outdoors, the Mediterranean interior design style outstands. This historic property in the sunny city of Sydney could only be complete with an outdoor pool area. Blainey North effortlessly pulls off a timeless and meaningful home to a modern family. AUTHENTIC MEDITERRANEAN INTERIOR DESIGN BY THE SEA What style would fit best in a home in Spain than authentic Mediterranean interior design style? In Alicante, Blanca Fabré and Alejandro Fauquié designed a typical Mediterranean home. The interior designers embraced the bright and beautiful natural light and the view over the Mediterranean sea. Miley Cyrus Home in Los Angeles: Where Psychedelic And Zen Meet

Miley Cyrus home has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, 6,800 square feet of Southern California, and is already fully decorated. More than that, it has been completely “Mileyfied”. Furthermore, thanks to the musician’s ace interior design team: Tish Cyrus and Mat Sanders, Tish’s design partner. “My biggest goal is that when you walk into someone’s home, I want you to know who lives there, what their personality is, what they love, and what they look like,” says Tish. “I know Miley so well, and we are so close, so I was able to do it.” The result? Like Miley herself, the house is beautiful and bustling, yet stable and disciplined in its exuberance. Admits Tish, “My wheelhouse is very boho chic. In my own house, I like anything neutral. Nevertheless, with Miley, you have to feel the rock and roll. There is much color.” An Ettore Sottsass bookcase, a mouth-shaped chair that wags its tongue, and a psychedelic ceiling treatment by artist Brian Robles are just a few examples of this kaleidoscopic cool. Zoom in a bit, and it is clear that after painting the exterior of the clapboard 1950s house. “Miley, Mat, and I are a great little team because they are always. More is more,” Tish explains. Nevertheless, Tish enjoyed embracing Miley’s cheerful maximalism. “People make bold choices in their lives, and sometimes those moves work out and bring you good luck, and sometimes they do not. However, it is a risk she wants-and I want to take in our lifestyle, and that is reflected in the design.” Indeed. No doubt, as far as this house is concerned, those risks were well worth it. Throughout it all, however, serene notes persist. The pool is a true meditative oasis, while the gym and wellness spaces were inspired by a trip to the sublime Amangiri resort in Utah. Miley could have hired any designer she wanted. “But for her to be like, ‘Mom, I love what you do, and I want you to do this house’ was awesome. Not only as her mom, but more than that, I never went to design school, and I am from Eastern Kentucky, too, so I think it is something. It made me feel so good.” Miley says that the least important quality of her mother and as an interior designer is also her understanding and non-judgment. Anything Miley dreams up, her mother will create into a reality, even if it is not her style. Tish also designs for her remaining children. Miley is not the only one who uses her mother as an interior designer. All five of them do – the same way she feeds us. “She wants the best for us. Creating spaces that reflect us is the best for our mental health, our creativity, our songwriting,” Miley adds. Furthermore, that is true, even down to a singular work of art in the white, airy, and pristine open-plan kitchen: a black-on-black square panel with the F-word written in capital letters. “I hate the F-word more than anything in the world, but I found that,” says Tish. “I was like, if I know Miley, she is going to love this so much. Moreover, I know the perfect place for it!” We really hope you liked our article. Feel free to pin all the images to your favourite Pinterest board. How to Arrange Outdoor Area According to Chinese Feng Shui Philosophy

Our most active followers probably already saw a few articles about Chinese Feng Shui Philosophy and how to implement it in interior design. We already cowered general rules, living rooms, entryways and recently also bedrooms. Today we would like to invite you for a journey through the most wonderful feng shui outdoor areas! If you aren’t familiar yet with feng shui philosophy, let us explain, that this Chinese concept focuses on the free flow of qi (energy), which is possible when there is harmony between the forces ruling the world and our lives. This Chinese philosophy aims to plan spaces in a way that serves good physical and mental health, happiness and overall well-being. So the most important concept, that you should always keep in mind, is to keep positive vibes at home, that will bring good energy and make your life better.  Outdoor area is a prolongation of our house, so we should plan it according to bagua map, which determines appropriate areas for designed activities, based on energy. Some people even plan the whole outdoor area according to the map, but you can also implement only the ground rules, having the map in your mind.  For example, the northern part is associated with personal development, career, and therefore with knowledge or the element of earth – in this part of the garden it is worth creating a place for contemplation, enrich the surface with stone elements. The most important rules when it comes to designing an outdoor area according to feng shui is the rule of keeping everything simple and natural. Everything, even if it was planned and especially designed for space, should look like an imitation of nature. Try to keep the balance between yin and yang elements.  Water in feng shui philosophy is an equivalent of life, so a pond, a fountain, a small river or a pool will definitely enrich the space with tranquility.  Additionally, don’t forget that one of the most important premises of feng shui is to keep things organized and neat. The space should be harmonious and pleasant, so don’t leave any gardening tools or other unnecessary items lying around.  The free flow of energy will be facilitated by garden paths. They should not be straight, because the energy will move too quickly and escape. We recommend curved paths where the energy encounters e.g. stone statues, figurines, walls which will keep it for longer. Trees and shrubs have a similar effect. What’s really important and probably interests everyone are the plants! To maintain balance in the garden between the elements of yin and yang, plants should be planted in equal amounts of the ones with long leaves, creeping, growing near the ground (yin) and those growing upwards and climbing (yang). The yin greenery has a calming effect on the composition of the garden while the yang dynamizes it. In this way harmony and balance is maintained. Also, gardening is a key to success here, cause we can’t have any dead plants around! And above all, try to make the place the cosiest possible. In your garden you should be able to feel same as in nature. It should make you relaxed and peaceful 😉 We really hope you liked our article. The Relation Between Fashion and Interior Design

Fashion and interior design are two concepts widely discussed in the art world. But how to distinguish these two types of decoration that go through , colors, fabrics, textures, shapes, and space? Recently Kelly Wearstler said that how she dresses is how she designs. And it got us thinking about the connection between fashion and interior design. Settling a collection is very similar to settling up a home. Both fashion designers and interior designers work with sketches, samples, colors, fabrics, textures, shapes, and space. Nevertheless, what brings fashion close to interior design is much more than similar project development. TRENDS SETTING TRENDS While fashion trends are the result of economic, social, and historical outputs, interior design trends are the result of fashion trends. Often runaways define what’s next in interior design. It can be a pattern, such as tartan or floral, or a combination of materials. Since fashion is more impulsive and consumers are more demanding, following fashion trends is a great way to hand out what people want in their homes. Neutral hues and earthy tones are the 2021 interior design color trend. At the same time, natural colors are present in high-end fashion. SAME MATERIALS Designing clothes is very similar to designing furniture. Additionally, pulling an outfit is very much like designing a house interior. Fashion is about combining colors, patterns, and textures. Interior design is exactly the same. EXPRESSION OF ONESELF Both fashion and interior design are the best artistic way of expressing oneself. Ain’t nothing more empowering than finding ourselves in the garments we wear. Personal style is about finding clothing that makes us feel good in our own skin. In interior design, is precisely the same. Instead of feeling good in our own skin, we look for feeling good in our shell, our safe haven. When we express ourselves materialistically, we get to evolve personally. METALLIC DETAILS Fashion and interior design also share the wide use of metallic details. For instance, a golden zip is no different from a brass sconce. In fashion as in interior design, golden fixtures are simultaneously functional and decorative. RECYCLING, UPCYCLING AND PRE-OWNED Fashion is one of the biggest polluter industries. However, awareness and environmental concerns from consumers are making the industry greener. Although interior design is more ecological from afar, the industry is also changing. Both industries are changing their values, and many brands shifting the good they offer. It is more common to find upcycled clothes and furniture. Even fast fashion is becoming greener since mainstream clothing brands offer either products or collections made from recycled materials. In the same fashion, consumers now have as many vintage items in their wardrobes as they have new ones. In fact, the biggest e-commerce platforms offer pre-owned clothing, and the same happens with furniture. The value of iconic design and high-quality and durable items is equally popular in fashion and interior design. How about you? What is the predominant color of your wardrobe? And your house? What type of clothing makes you feel comfortable, and which piece of furniture makes you feel at home? What does inspire you to create unique interior design projects? Trendy fashion mood boards are inspiring to understand about combinations of colors, patterns, and shapes. Most of all, it’s an explosion of visual pleasure. But do you know how to create one? Similar to the restaurant Swan and Bar Bevy, The Goodtime Hotel in Miami by Pharrell Williams is a dream in pastel colors. Even though the predominant interior design style is art deco, at the Goodtime Hotel we experience a post-art deco with lighter colors. We could even argue that Wes Anderson was the inspiration for the interior design of Ken Folk. The pastel colors contrast with deep hues of classic art deco style, such as blue, green, brown, brick orange, and mustard yellow.Undoubtedly there’s a contemporary flair in art deco interior style at the Goodtime Hotel in Miami. THE GOOTIME HOTEL LOBBY Even though many areas of the Goodtime Hotel are a contemporary interpretation of art decor interior style, the lobby is a travel in time. There’s a remarkable charm in the hotel lobby. The reception in black lacquered is decorated with dramatic table lamps with fringes. A delightful custom-made tropical mural pairs with art decor glass suspension lamps. At first glance, we feel a charm identical to the lobby of The Colony Palm Beach Hotel. THE GOODTIME OUTDOOR POOL AREA The Goodtime Hotel in Miami is about well-being, spending a good time, to relax and to recharge. In this manner, a carefully designed outdoor area is part of this stunning hotel in Miami. The architect Raymond Jungles is the creative behind the outdoor pool area. At the Goodtime Hotel, we find an unworldly pool club, with a mid-century modern aesthetic… The baby pink sunbeds, the white umbrellas, and an outdoor area filled with plants to highlight tropical vibes. The perfect environment to be sunkissed and to get a good tan in Miami. Do you appreciate the aesthetic of The Goodtime Hotel in Miami by Pharrell Williams and Ken Fulk? TROPICAL WALLPAPERS WORKING ON A BUDGET If you’re working on a budget but still want to create an impactful room, work the powder room! Why the powder room? Powder rooms are small, so you’ll need to invest less money on paper. Covering the guestroom in wallpaper will also luxe it up. That shouldn’t be a lifeless room nor go unnoticed So if you want to renovate your house this Spring but you’re lacking time, just go for the powder room. HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT TROPICAL WALLPAPER? Despite having similarities, tropical wallpaper doesn´t look all the same, right? In addition to the different imagery and the colors, each one of them gives away different vibrancies. So… how to choose the perfect tropical wallpaper? First of all, choose good quality wallpaper. Good quality wallpaper is more expensive, and might be out of your budget. But there are advantages that will make the money worth it. Good quality wallpaper last longer, looks better, and causes no damage on the walls when properly applied. So if you’re buy expensive wallpaper you really should consider hiring professionals to have it installed. After having in mind that you should choose a good quality wallpaper, you should care about its appearance. Tropical wallpapers are mainly green, blue, and orange. Therefore, this highly aesthetic wallpaper theme comes in earthy tones. Nevertheless, its hue always varies. Some of them have strong earthy colors, such as blue cobalt, or brick orange. Others are mainly olive green and have more romantic hues, like pale pink. If the room has a modern or contemporary interior design style, we strongly advise you to go for more graphic tropical wallpapers with stronger color hues. On the other hand, if you’re more of a classicist and want to achieve a mid-century interior style, or even vintage, go for softer earthy hues. WHERE TO APPLY THE WALLPAPER? Maybe you’re just passionate about tropical wallpapers. Maybe you just get mesmerized by the beauty they carry with them. And maybe you just want to be surrounded by that beauty, but don’t know where to put it. Well. the possibilities are endless. As already said, covering the wall of your guestroom would be impactful enough. In case the idea doesn’t appeal to your senses, think that you can cover as many walls as you want, and as much of a wall as you want as well. In fact, wallpaper can be used as a headboard or window frame. You can install wallpaper in the entrance or in the ceiling. It’s not a common move, but decorating the ceiling with wallpaper gives charisma to the dullest of the rooms. However, our favorite Spring decor idea with tropical wallpapers is to decor the indoor-outdoor dining area. Do you have a terrace, yard, or any kind of outdoor patio?
