CHROMATIK HOUSE at Fuorisalone 2022: The Highlights

CHROMATIK HOUSE at Fuorisalone 2022, the first-ever international exhibition of HOMMÉS Studio, ACH Collection, ACH4Pets and TAPIS Studio, had some remarkable moments. HOMMÉS Studio was born in Porto (Portugal) in 2019. In three years, 2 stuck inside a pandemic, the ultra-modern furniture brand branched out other brands – ACH Collection, dedicated to offering the most stylish and luxurious tabletop fixtures and home accessories; ACH4Pets, the brand for pet beds, handmade food and water bowls, and pet accessories that equal the pet’s lifestyle to their owner’s; and TAPIS Studio, a rug brand with essential and vanguardist rugs and carpets that fit in eclectic interiors and sophisticated outdoors, lasting a lifetime. HOUSE OF HOMMÉS is now the home for these 4 brands with different identities but shared design and manufacturing lexicon. Furthermore, all brands under the umbrella of HOMMÉS Studio are thought to fit comprehensive lifestyles, paying particular attention to how an array of objects with strong silhouettes fit harmoniously within the same room. Taking the chambers of Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, a historic house museum in the heart of Milan’s Quadrilatero della Moda with a restaurant (Salomaio di Montenapoleone) that served as a backdrop from one of the scenes of House Of Gucci featuring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, HOMMÉS Studio joined 5 leading brands for Palazzo delle Meraviglie with CHROMATIK HOUSE, a synaesthetic experience that invited visitors to explore a metaverse version of a traditional home using their primal senses  – hearing, sight, smell, and touch – to explore a space that blends real and imaginative, leaving them wondering whether the future is still unwritten or it is a mere rebirth of classical philosophies and aesthetics.  CHROMATIK HOUSE at Fuorisalone 2022, the first-ever international exhibition of HOMMÉS Studio, alongside ACH Collection, ACH4Pets, and TAPIS Studio was a success. Here are the highlights of a remarkable Milan Design Week. MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2022 HIGHLIGHTS 1. The Passionate Bryce Dallas Howard’s Home in Los Angeles

Peek inside The Jurassic World star – Bryce Dallas Howard’s home in Los Angeles – a place full of inspiration, treasures, and meaningful stories where a mix of organic glamour style and Hollywood storytelling enabled to create this charming interior design layout. One charming pink home with meaningful stories to share – this was the home that Howard and her husband, Seth Gabel, dreamed about and now have, thanks to the support of the interior designer, Claire Thomas. This home in Los Angeles belongs to Bryce Dallas a famous actor and director, with notable works such as the Jurassic World and the Twilight series. She and her husband, fellow actor Seth Gabel, wanted a home where those who visit could think about the meaning of the details – but more than that, a home that communicated their background. The encounter between a creative person, Howard, and a problem-solving master, Thomas, was a success and turned this home into the perfect place for Bryce and Seth, who had just moved from New York to Los Angeles with their family of four. In this charming home in Los Angeles, ideas were not an issue – Bryce and Thomas shared the same passion for old Hollywood storytelling, which inspired some spaces of this project. The Hollywood inspiration went beyond – the designer imagined the family as characters on a set to interpret their personalities and home needs. The final look of this home in Los Angeles reveals an organic glamour style with Hollywood influences, vibrant furniture, calm Californian vibes, and a pallet color that mixes pink and green tones. This home in Los Angeles has a charming kitchen- with a mint-toned kitchen island and baby pink cabinets that reveal all the project’s charm. This space shows clever ideas- with a highlight for the ceiling painted in the same color as the cabinets and a mix of textures. The dining room is a remarkable space of this project – here, the inspiration was the cinema and the Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki– the wall is lined with a wallpaper that reminds the scenario from My Neighbor Totoro. The place almost looks like the forest from the movie, which makes you believe that Totoro will appear here in some time. It’s a magical space that allows beautiful and meaningful memories like those from Miyazaki. The movie references don’t stay just in the dining room – in the primary bedroom; the reverence was Star Trek: Next Generation, which gives the room a retro-futuristic look. In this space, curving lines provide the 80s vibes. In the house’s exterior, another movie reference can be found- a mural that reminds the two suns from Tatooine – Luke Skywalker’s hometown, the Star Wars protagonist. ´ Although the house is full o movie connections, it also has space for sentimental objects whats makes this a meaningful home – just like Bryce and Seth dreamed – a home that tells their narrative. Discover This Joyful Retreat in Alentejo With A Rustic Atmosphere

Discover This Joyful Retreat in Alentejo With A Rustic Atmosphere

Step Inside This Lively & Stunning Retreat in Alentejo – Comporta – by the Partners Jean-Philippe Demeyer, Frank Ver Elst, and Jean-Paul Dewever. This fabulous property is located in the stunning zone of Comporta, located in the Portugal countryside. Known for its warm weather and nature in abundance, Comporta is an oasis of beauty in the arid landscape of Alentejo –  a rural region with golden hues in Southern Portugal. Surrounded by nature, this project overflows uniqueness due to it’s traditional but modern design. With beachy vibes, this retreat in Alentejo is perfect for a weekend getaway. It’s loaded with exclusive decoration hand crafted by locals. Jean-Philippe Demeyer, Frank Ver Elst, and Jean-Paul Dewever – close in life and partners in work – projected this cottage perfectly. The Belgian designer Demeyer describes his work as gutsy and cheerful, and this enchanting retreat in Alentejo was no exception. This combination created the perfect interior design project, where you can even describe it with more words, such as exuberant and anarchic.  Demeyer claims not to have a style, which you can’t tell when looking at someone whose creations are so distinctive.  A trendy fashion restaurant in Belgium illustrates the designer’s boldness with its interior erupting with color, huge stripes, and striking patterns. Demeyer esteems all the designer’s work, but he only can work by being himself. He’s instinctive, and firstly, he thinks about locus genii (the spirit of a place) and then idealizes the architectural structure. With this, he can begin layering and start a storytelling. Such as the rest of the design professionals, Demeyer, even with his particular and distinctive style, flexes it according to his client’s preferences in order to please them. When it comes to ornamenting his own homes, he’s a hundred percent himself. The designer lived until recently with his partners Frank Ver Elst and Jean-Paul Dewever in a space that was almost a showcase for his ideas. He was combining his life and work, having a moated medieval hunting lodge with stables and an orangery where he had offices, a textiles workshop, and their home. Freshly, the trio concluded the restoration and decoration of a property in Bruges, Belgium. Nevertheless, they expect to move once they find another house with adequate space to experiment. They claim that a home is a balance between a creative playground and an area to relax. Nowadays, they are partners in the business and especially in life, thanks to the casual meeting 20 years ago on a random beach that connected them. From that moment, they never stopped being together. They are successful at working together in business. Demeyer affirms that Frank has an excellent eye and controls him when he goes too far. Jean-Paul is fantastic at finance and organization. While their new home’s renovation work was proceeding, they concluded their second one last year near Comporta – this beautiful retreat in Alentejo was another successful project. The story behind this purchase demonstrates that this choice was entirely by chance. The designer trio went on a trip to Spain and randomly, when looking in a magazine, there was an article about Comporta: a hidden secret in Europe. They took a detour on their way back home to visit it and fell in love with the place. Thirty-five miles of beach, a clean ocean and the nature were enough for them to want a house in this stunning place. As their first option, they bought a plot near the beautiful beaches, but due to the regulations of having a house there, especially to construct, made them change their mind. After, they found this charming rural house half an hour to the interior, surrounded by 45 acres of trees. This whitewashed one-story house is perfectly surrounded by a dazzling vista – nature on its absolute. This retreat in Alentejo was back in the day constructed with rammed earth and a roof of dusky orange pantiles. Renewed in the ’50s its original charm was maintained. The windows were upgraded, replacing the old plastic ones with dark metal-framed windows as well as the poured-concrete flooring that flows between rooms and across the terraces. This beachy escape serves Demeyer and his partners to spend time in the summer and the Easter and every other break they can get away to this artful retreat in Alentejo. The bigger terrace has a beautiful fountain projected by Demeyer in the house’s entryway, while the rectangular pool in the back that fuses with the panorama was hand-painted by the English artist and designer Luke Edward Hall. Protected from the regional climate by the thick earth walls, the small rooms in this retreat in Alentejo are blazing under the diagonal lids of the deep burgundy ceiling. They designed pieces of heavy woolen blanket for the living room, woven in Alentejo for decades to wrap shepherds to protect them against the night cold. It was set stripes of various colors to cover the floor and walls behind the living room sofa. This retreat in Alentejo is featured by unique vibrant decoration, such as these turquoise pottery paws that work as coffee tables combined with a cushion with unblinking appliqué eyes. Take a look at the high-end unique decoration by ACH Collection: Demeyer wanted the house to have strong connections with its location, having the typical Alentejo houses colors- blue, yellow, and burgundy with white. The three bedrooms, filled with a double bed and bespoke wardrobes, have doors paneled with reed grass used typically in this region to make bags. To make all the 12 panels, the designers found an old lady who agreed to do it. The tiles – produced in Spain – are arranged in horizontal bands in the kitchen. All the hand-painted pottery plates and bowls are from traditional Portuguese crafters. The weathered circular table is covered by a bold skirt with a random patchwork. The colors and materials are traditional features present in Alentejo roots, and the designers wanted to take that into account. Nevertheless, as in all Demeyer’s interiors, the final outcome is

A Distinctive Restaurant Design Of An American Hamburger Chain In Milan

A Distinctive Restaurant Design By Masquespacio In Milan

Take a Look at this Outstanding Restaurant Design of the American Hamburger Chain ‘Bun Burgers’ designed by Masquespacio in Milan. After inaugurating its last one in Turin last year, the American chain of gourmet hamburgers ‘Bun’ opened its new place in via Dell’Orso, Milan. In the middle of the art and vintage shops of the Milanese neighborhood of Brera, you can find this outstanding hamburger restaurant design with an 80’s aesthetic, which changes the conceptualized idea of these type of chains. Creating a stylistic mixture based on the color block and retrofuturistic atmosphere, Masquespacio decided to add an even more differentiated element – a “swimming pool.” Diverging from other Bun Burgers, the new restaurant has five distinct hues. To not disagree with the historic city center style, the range of color used is not as vibrant as they usually do in their interior design projects. The designers went for a pastel color palette in the restaurant design project. This is the latest restaurant design using the formula developed by the duo of Valencian interior designers for the American hamburger chain. The duo is behind some of the most exciting restaurants that have emerged in recent years in Valencia, such as the sushi bar ‘Kaikaya,’ the restaurants ‘La Sastrería‘ and ‘Living Bakkali’ or the ‘Piada’ in Lyon. The project aimed to create an identity with a clear focus on the younger and urban audience and, at the same time, represent a more sophisticated approach for a high-quality hamburger restaurant. The interior of ‘Bun’ gives a twist to the pattern that this type of chain has to have a New York-inspired industrial décor, redefining the image of the Generation Z burger restaurant. Firstly, when they started to work on the first Bun in Milan, they thought of an underground space without windows. As it is not easy to attract customers to an environment without light, the designers changed their minds and proposed the owners do something out of the ordinary. The idea was that the pool would become the restaurant design’s central element, and then adding porthole windows to make the space look like a submarine. In the end, the area was not rented, but the owners liked the idea of the pool so much that they asked Masquespacio to develop it elsewhere. The first place they applied the pool concept was in the center of Turin, which opened a year ago, around the same time as the first Milanese place, in Viale Bligny. Once again, the pool has been the protagonist of this Bun restaurant design in Brera. It is a small indoor room where they have used a mirror effect to recreate the illusion of the waves. All the chain restaurants have ceramic tiles and colored blocks that organize the spaces, reflective surfaces, and a chromatic selection that nods to current trends, mixed with elegant details such as brass signs, terrazzo panels, and opal glass lighting. Arches and raised platforms are also recurring elements. Another element that reappears in the American restaurant design is the color green. This is directly associated with the fact that the color represents Bun’s ecological commitment as the restaurant declares itself free of plastics, serving only food and beverages in recyclable containers. The Bun’s desire for sustainability is connected with its sensitivity to nature, which is also aligned with Masquespacio values, since the studio tries to integrate natural materials and organic forms, in addition to including plants. This trend has been accentuated in interior design, partly because of the pandemic. The designers believe that surrounding yourself with plants not only gives joy to an environment but also gives the feeling of being in more human space and close to nature. However, live plants have been replaced by dried ones in the Brera restaurant design. After a few years of working with dried flowers, the designer concluded that they provide a more sophisticated effect, but without discarding the option to continue using living plants in the future. They aren’t only focused on creating a beautiful restaurant design but also on creating a concept connected with food and service, being everything aligned. Given the rapid expansion of ‘Bun,’ this via Dell’Orso restaurant in Milan is the sixth interior designed by Masquespacio for the hamburger chain, including four in the Lombard capital and the second space in Turin’s Lingotto shopping center. The owner was surrendered mainly by the location of the Hollywood Hills property. She was not captivated by the interior, so this project ended up being a zingy lesson in how to decorate with hues and patterns. Before moving to this house, she and her husband were living in a traditional, Tudor-style estate in Beverly Hills, and they desired to switch to a place with a more modern vibe that had a vista, something that they found in their new Hollywood home. They also wanted restaurants and nightspots close to the house to avoid the L.A. traffic jams.  Get a similar look with our PINA CHAIR IRON: The original property was built in 1950, and it was the residence of a couple that had lived there before for numerous years. Dan Ricketts, a designer of  DJR Design Group, was conscripted to be part of the team that together had the mission to do a better version of the Hollywood home. The original house was torn down, with only being left a few walls for zoning purposes.  An entirely new house was built over the footprint of the old one. They also decided to install a pool and a new basement. With approximately 5,000 sq ft, the remodeled house now has 4 bedrooms and 5.5 baths and many well-delegated areas. The inspiration behind this interior design project went from the house panorama that the plot comprises. The facade of the new Hollywood home has a wide vista of the Los Angeles downtown, and on the other hand, the house’s rear looks for a broad panorama of the stunning Hollywood Hills alongside the Pacific Ocean. They wanted to maintain the interior immensely connected to the exterior landscape, keeping it open to the views whenever possible. The expected vibe for this place is to deliver a feeling of relaxation and freshness complemented with a Europen note. This desired look resulted in a pondered material and color selection. The client wanted to have color in multiple areas of the Hollywood home, so to soften it, Ricketts decided to leave the floor and walls in neutral tones to make contrast, featuring the vibrant fabrics and artworks. The designer wanted to match the client’s personality with an eclectic style. For this, he motivated them to acquire mesmerizing art to have an astonishing look on these home walls. Spanish and Italian porcelain tiles have been used throughout the property, as well as the cabinetry that is in its majority from Italia. The plumbing fittings are as well from a selected Italian firm. The furniture came from various sources but always with a central preoccupation: comfort. They searched for furniture with soft, tactile upholstery favored. The Hollywood home’s living room is a refined example of DRG Design Group’s pick-and-mix method, combining miscellaneous items to create a cheery vibe. Custom sofas, covered in a beautiful fabric, are combined with charming side chairs, a coffee table, and a vivid yellow console. A lounge chair dressed in a dazzling velvet blue fabric is complemented with a painting above the exquisite piano achieving this perfect scenario. ARE YOU INTO INTERIOR DESIGN? The incredible Torcuato Restaurant: An Immersive Experience Between Styles in Madrid

Torcuato restaurant opened two years ago in Madrid and provides an incredible experience that blends unique cuisine with an extravagant interior design. Located in the heart of Madrid, Torcuat restaurant has an impressive interior design with the signature of the designer Pepe Leal. The project blends some improbable styles that turn this into an exceptional layout, the perfect combination for a restaurant led by the famous chef Sergio Fernández, who has a diverse culinary menu. The project of the Torcuat is a mix of styles – from the Art Deco to the modern aesthetic. Therefore, the restaurant also has an incredible view that welcomes the restaurant’s terrace with one of the most beautiful panoramas in the city. The restaurant’s name was given in honor of Torcuato Luca de Tena, a journalist that founded the magazine Blanco y Negro and the ABC, both housed in the building that nowadays is the restaurant. Pepe Leal took as inspiration Torcuato’s travels to create this place that is almost a journey between styles and times. The unique layout of the restaurant resonates with the building- a mansion that mix s Moorish Revival, Neo-Renaissance, and traditional Andalusian architectural elements. Torcuato restaurant has two halls, an incredible rooftop terrace, and three different dining experiences. Each ambient has a unique design that provides the right vibe and highlights the immersive experience that combines culinary and interior design. One of the rooms from Torcuato restaurant has a classical style with modern touches, an eye-catching space that takes attention to the peachy tones, and the incredible installation in the ceiling that reminds a caleidoscope. The room looks like a vintage royal interior, but the furniture helps to create a flawless contemporary look. A bold and dark ambient with masculine vibes dictated the tone of the restaurant’s bar area. Inspired by Great Gatsby’s fictional mansion, the room is full of Art Deco and Neo-Renaissance references. This room is entirely different from the first area, making us feel like traveling between places. The rooftop is a beautiful and bright open space with a tropical vibe. Where the highlights are the painting wall with colorful flowers and the metallic arched trellises, it’s like a luxury garden for the best gathering. The encounter between styles doesn’t stay just in the interior design of Torcuato restaurant; the chef Sergio Férnandez also presents a diversified menu that blends techniques from Japan, the Mediterranean, and Mexico. The unique cuisine and the authentic interior design turn Torcuato into a memorable experience. DO YOU LOVE INTERIOR DESIGN? Why Should You Use Travertine In Your Interior Design Project

Why Should You Use Travertine In Your Interior Design Project?

Is Travertine Going To Be The Next Trending Material For Interior Design Projects? Discover More About This Stunning Material And Why You Should Use It. Travertine is a porous, sandy-hued material that turns the interiors into calm and organized spaces. This porous type of limestone is often encountered around mineral springs. This material has emerged as a star in the decorating landscape. Don’t confuse its soft-outspokenness for weakness. Travertine is a warm but subdued material that embodies this period of material-forward zen decorating where a calm atmosphere is a holy grail. This material is not only used because it is a stunning decorative surface when polished. This lightweight but robust surface also fits well for thermal and acoustic insulation. Travertine has been utilized as a building material for centuries. The Romans used it for temples, bathhouses, and theaters. It appears in many historically important monuments all over the globe, such as in St. Peter’s Basilica (forming the ribs of the dome), the Trevi Fountain, and Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion. Check our LUNARYS TABLES Today, thanks to its multiple qualities, it confronts other surface favorites such as marble and terrazzo in the material desktop of the interior designers. More and more, travertine is getting used for various renamed interior designers in beautiful and important projects, such as in the Luxury Manhattan Apartment designed by Steven Volpe – a travertine tub with a view – or even the Tranquil Nashville Home from the singer Kacey Musgraves, where you can find this refined material in her vintage dining table. Travertine is increasingly being picked up for interior design projects because it has many amazing features. It has an earthy tone palette, which complements almost any texture or color, making it extremely easy to employ. It adds a pure vibe that can warm up any space because it’s a light and natural-looking material. It works on many surfaces such as sinks, walls, and floors. An excellent tip for travertine is to go for unfilled travertine on vertical walls and filled travertine on horizontal surfaces. SEE ALSO: 10 Stylish Living Rooms with Stone Surface to Get Inspired Travertine is one of those materials that stimulate calm and tranquility. Its organic texture is appealing in so many ways. It delivers a peaceful sensation instead of a heavy feeling. Lately, you can usually find travertine furnishings, such as coffee tables or decorative accessories, rather than speccing the material for high-traffic surfaces, which is susceptible to weight in a space. Whether you’re covering a whole space in travertine or only adding a travertine accessory, the next trend is to give a new look to this timeless material. Luckily, there are many products you can choose that allow you to take advantage of this astonishing material and give your interior design project a breath of fresh air.
