The designers of the Design Agency, John Tong from +tongtong and Diamond Schmitt Architects as building architects created a new unit blending their vision as professionals and residents. The new design of the Drake is supposed to show how the hotel continues to be the center of this vibrant scene, reimagining and reinventing the unit, the neighborhood, and the city. Behind massive brass doors, the Drake hotel welcomes guests and locals with a bright, modern and very artistic common space with an elegant lobby and a cozy bar behind red velvet curtains. Eclectic mid-century furniture and a stained-brick fireplace create an image of classic hospitality spiced up with a bold design flair. A banquette, flanked by two pillars and upholstered in bright mid-century walnut print, is the focal point of the lobby, while a sculpted reception desk picks up the artistic image of the lobby.  There’s always had a strong connection between the hotel and the city, specifically its streets. The Lobby Bar interacts with Queen Street, and the full-height curved window in the new Lobby Bar proudly states it drawing maximum attention to it. The first time he and his partner moved to the duplex apartment in the Upper East Side, Ryan Korban underwent a head-to-toe renovation, painting the duplex pale grey and custom designing most of his furniture. Little did he know that he would have to do another re-decoration in a short time again.  After all his changes, he still didn’t feel at home. He realized he was missing something that he had in his previous houses, something eclectic, perceiving the difference between decorating with gorgeous pieces and living your everyday life in the home you decorate. The choices he had made were seemingly safe for a designer like him.  Wanting to make the place even more, fit his style while being daring pushed him to redecorate, and this time he would do it in a way to provide an actual difference in his day-to-day life. This new renovation represents a transformation for him as an artist too.  Ryan Korban is an interior designer who made his name a decade ago and recently has become famous for his residential work, including Ye (Kanye West) and James Franco. The neutral colors, statement furniture, and opulent materials, like marble and fur, represent quite well his design style. In the renovation of his NYC townhouse, he worked on his “fear of color” and started implementing less saturated colors.  He implemented a black leather Crescent sofa in his living room, one of the first pieces he designed. This way, it manages to change people’s way of life more profoundly. Experienced in planning and designing complexes with multi-dimensional scenes, Karv One has successfully designed many innovative commercial spaces. The company can provide clients with holistic design services, including brand image packaging and space design. It studied the iconic features of many different cities. The idea is to blend those unique local characteristics with the brand design. This combination adds unique value to the brand in the local area.  The white metal grid is the main protagonist of this design. It’s a stand-alone fluttering ribbon design piece that, together with the thematic art greenery, creates this surreal atmosphere. Grange residence is a unique house design with four bedrooms, a rooftop, and an infinity swimming pool, located in the suburban area of Toorak, Melbourne. A minimalist stone form with acid-etched marble cover designed by Conrad Architects. Conrad Architects is a Melbourne-based architectural and interior design practice with a global client base who share their passion for design excellence. With over a decade of experience, Conrad Architects has developed a deep understanding of town planning requirements, a reflection of high-quality design underpinned by commercial awareness, and a desire to contribute positively to the cities and suburbs in which they live. As a full-service studio, the practice offers Architectural Design, Urban Design, Interior Design, Construction Drawings, and Contract Administration. The design complies with the local regulations, and it has a different height in each part of its structure. Uneven height structures create new perspectives, and since in this case, the topography dictated the design, the architects planned an even more emphasized experience of entering the house, revealing the landscape.  Skylights illuminate the house’s focal point, the staircase. They illuminate this sculptural element, bring natural light inside the house, and provide a nice view of the beautiful Australian sky. The second floor has a large living room, dining room, and office space, and above all, there’s a stunning infinity pool that opens onto the terrace. In comparison, the bedrooms are intentionally located below the entrance level to give more privacy but open views. And there’s also a level below that, which includes a garage, gym, and utility room. This design offers everything that you might want in a minimalist-style design house.
