Estro Restaurant is a New Modern Maximalism Indicator

Estro, means ‘inspiration’ in Italian. It is the brainchild of Chef Antimo Merone. The modern maximalism restaurant opened in partnership with JIA Group. Hong Kong’s André Fu is responsible for the interior design. Estro isn’t a thematic restaurant. “It’s a chef-driven experience rather than a concept-driven experience,” says Fu. Instead, it’s inspired by Merone’s personality — “he’s a very expressive, somewhat eclectic person,”. Cooking and culture, tempered with Fu’s own recollections and impressions of Italy are inspirational. In this restaurant, Fu’s design enchants and transports. It’s an immersive tapestry of evocative references and memories, encapsulating the colours, character and styling of a luxurious salotto, or sitting room, in a traditional villa. At the entrance, the bare concrete corridor is reminiscent of any alley in Merone’s hometown, but it gives way to fine marquetry details on the front door, hinting at the refined residence beyond. In the reception area, the atmosphere begins to change: traditional wallpaper in green and turquoise with a velvet finish welcomes guests before a stately iron gate, framed in floral swirls and shapes, opens onto the main dining room. Rich salmon-orange walls wrap the space. Deep burgundy and turquoise accent the modern maximalism. More sage green — and then the curves, as the walls appear to billow in and out, introducing a symmetry that gives the space its shape. And as in any Italian home, the kitchen takes centre stage — after all, the cuisine is the heart of the Estro experience. A highlight is the chef’s table: unlike more traditional layouts, here the table is an extension of the humming kitchen, through which guests walk to this private dining room, making it feel more like a part of the kitchen itself. The same flooring and wall materials continue from the kitchen, and the door can be left open to experience the kitchen atmosphere or closed for privacy. “This is a space I’ll see every day for a long time,” Merone adds, “and the kitchen is part of the restaurant. I love this place — the warmth I’m looking for in the dining experience is truly represented by what André has created.” At Estro, Merone’s dishes and Fu’s style come together in a singular space that is rich but not overwhelming, inspired but not a pastiche, and contemporary while staying true to Merone’s roots. MODERN DESIGN INSTALLATION weaves through Bangkok restaurant

Using rattan sculptures, an architecture studio Enter Projects Asia has created a modern design installation for the Spice & Barley gastro lounge in Bangkok. The studio has used gold hues to fuse Thai tradition with modern design. The studio from Thailand used 3D-modelling to create large sculptures. They weave through the 300 square-metres space. This undoubtedly makes impressive views. “We used 3D special effects software to simulate bubbles, foam and liquids to ‘suggest’ the foaming of beer and arrived at ‘fluid geometric shapes’,” says Patrick Keane, the director of Enter Projects Asia. The sculptures were painted gold like Thailand’s gilded temples. Moreover, they play a practical role in the modern design installation. They hide the beer pipes, air conditioning and other related services. The location of the restaurant is also important. “The site overlooks the Chao Priya River and the natural rattan structures act as twin towers, referencing the high rise towers in the backdrop,” the studio said. “The vast geometries flood the ceiling in an uninterrupted balustrade of twists and turns which bounce the light and become a beacon from far away.” Enter Projects Asia also wanted the installation and interior design to be eco-friendly and reference local culture. No plastic was used for the project. The design studio worked with local tradesmen on the rattan sculptures. Grand Banks – Shanghai Art Deco Restaurant finally completed

The project by Chris Shao Studio aimed to revitalize the historical Brunner Mond Building in Shanghai. Grand Banks is an Art Deco Restaurant in the restored building. It is a new destination for elevated cocktails, sophisticated small plates and various artistic happenings. The Brunner Mond Building is a neoclassical style building, with characteristic three horizontal columns in its facade. These columns along with the bronze cast iron gate, imitation stone facade, French windows, and lost sculpture of Atlanta, all pay homage to the golden age of Shanghai, when East encountered West. During the renovation, the design studio took into account the heritage regulations of minimum intervention, reversibility and integrity. Art Deco Restaurant This Art Deco Restaurant definitely can bring you to the old times. The interior resembles some kind of private luxury bar with its bentwood chairs and plush sofas. Usually, designers try to lighten the art deco style interiors. However, in Shanghai Art Deco Restaurant we can feel the style in its whole interpretation. The design studio decorated the dark and a little gloomy space with vintage furniture and beautiful wooden frames. A little dramatic colour palette with smokey hues evoke a sense of drama, while the vintage features make guests feel like at home. Meanwhile, in the restaurant there are also many modern design elements. Of course, they are mixed with gold accents and vintage lightning. Besides the fact, that art deco tends to be rather a heavy style, this Shanghai restaurant’s interior does not overwhelm. It is modern and delicate but still follows art-deco trend. Chris Shao Studio wanted to speak through the design in their project. In the restaurant we can admire the tale of prosperity, gold and jadeite. In the bar they used blackish-green palette and copper tones on veneers. Many stone carvings on the ceiling create a natural and light ambiance. What is more, the desigers used also typical Chinoiserie-style wallpapers. In order to emphasize the art deco spirit, in the interiors we can notice fine textured fabrics and silver cutlery. Obviously, the art deco place would be incomplete without relaxing spaces, where you can comfortably lay down in a cozy chesterfield sofas. The design studio hoped to bring the visitiors back to the splendid past of golden-age Shanghai. Grand Banks is a centre of sharing, meeting and relaxing in the modern city. Designer India Mahdavi And Chef Massimo Bottura Renew Ferrari’s Restaurant

The Chef’s Table alumni and the acclaimed designer, India Mahdavi, have restored the iconic trattoria, Ferrari’s Restaurant, which was once a favorite of Enzo Ferrari himself. In recent years, Netflix has done a whole lot to describe the scenic city of Modena as the beating, passionate heart of Italy‘s gastronomic heartland: Emilia Romagna. Moreover, at the epicenter of this, as anyone who has seen either Master of None or Chef’s Table will tell you, is chef Massimo Bottura and his restaurant Osteria Francescana: regarded by some as the most refined restaurant in the world. The trattoria has played a crucial role in building the mystique and story around Ferrari. Opened in the ’50s in an abandoned barn on the Ferrari factory grounds, it was a favorite of Enzo Ferrari himself, who used to wine and dined visiting royalty, prospective drivers for his Formula One team. Ferrari Ristorante Cavallino finally came to a close in 2019. However, two years later, it has now been revitalized as a hub for visiting food lovers and design addicts. With a menu conceptualized by Bottura and a new fit-out from designer India Mahdavi, the restaurant makes heavy use of Ferrari’s branding and red color scheme in a way that fuses old with new. Fresco By Scotto Restaurant Captures The Charm Of The Amalfi Coast

A canopy of lush lemon trees sets the scene at the new Fresco by Scotto restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. Transforming a restaurant interior with stunning botanical installations is hardly new, but several restaurant openings have been using soaring plants in the dining room to striking effect. At Daniel Boulud’s new Le Pavillion in One Vanderbilt, the design team crafted a “dining oasis” with a tranquil forest of trees and verdant bushes. Now, another novice to the dining scene has crafted an experiential ambiance with a transportive range of trees. Midtown eatery Fresco by Scotto Restaurant moves guests to the Amalfi Coast with a canopy of mature lemon trees punctuating the dining room and terrace. Long Island event planner Lawrence Scott helped create the whimsical space for the Scotto family, who has helmed the Italian eatery since 1993. Additionally, family cousin Michaelangelo L’Acqua curated the restaurant’s lively music program. “We are so excited to reopen Fresco by Scotto Restaurant in midtown Manhattan with a new look, a new chef, and a whole new attitude,” Rosanna Scotto says. “We wanted to create a restaurant where we serve good food, but we also transport the clients to Italy without a passport or plane.” Adding to the allure of the new East 52nd Street establishment is the refurbished menu from new chef Ben Kacmacik, who recently oversaw the kitchen at famed Manhattan dining destination Pastis. Hypnotic Earthy Hues Restaurant Interior at Nomada Lisbon

The hypnotic and immersive earthy hues restaurant interior of the new Nómada in Lisbon was designed by Spacegram. The local design studio created an eatery that reflects its menu – a fusion between Japanese cuisine and European flavours. The new Nómada restaurant in Lisbon, Portugal has a restrained rusty red color palette. The earthy hues in combination with the natural materials, namely wood, and marble, create a warm and intimate space. The entrance is through a tunnel emitting a soft glow that acts as a transitional threshold leading into the cocktail bar. A custom black metal staircase and bar are the focal point here – their clean, geometric lines defining this first intimate space. The staircase unconventionally serves as a bar table. This cocktail area is finished with mid-century bar stools whose wood color matches the earthy red walls. Earthy Hues and Natural Materials On the lower dining level of the earthy hues restaurant interior in Lisbon, casual dining is imbued through the composition, as a nod to Japanese minimalism. We can picture dining tables with a direct view of the restaurant’s sushi kitchen. The tabletop of the dining tables is Rojo Alicante marble. In addition, the original pine floorboards are painted in a similar rust-red hue. As a result, the dining room of Nómada restaurant has a monochromatic scheme color. However, it is far from being dull or boring. In fact, it has a hypnotic and immersive atmosphere. On one hand, the rusty red shades are warm and provide a welcoming atmosphere, as well as intimate. On the other hand, the materials are so raw that show respect towards fresh food. The interior design of this restaurant is a statement. Even though the restaurant pays tribute to Japanese minimalism, there is some drama. In order to achieve that dramatic interior, Spacegram added mirrors that punctuate the space to catch reflecting forms and textures in a psychedelic way. Get To Know La Sastreria Restaurant in Valencia, By Masquespacio

Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse, in 2010, create Masquespacio, an award creative studio.Ana Hernández is an interior design, and Christophe is a marketeer. Nonetheless, merging these 2 specialties, the Spanish design group creates custom-made branding and interior projects. Moreover, they look for authenticity and uniqueness in each project. They work closely with their clients to create a distinctive experience for the user of their product or establishment. Masquespacio presents La Sastrería, the last restaurant they designed in Valencia in the Canyamelar – Cabanyal neighborhood. The design takes its inspiration from chef Sergio Giraldo and bartender Cristóbal Bouchet’s dream to open their restaurant La Sastrería. Also, the project’s aim, like in most of Masquespacio’s projects, has been to fulfill the illusion of a group of young entrepreneurs seeking to offer a new culinary and sensorial experience in Valencia. In the first space, we can find a bar. This bar highlights the neighborhood itself through its architectural references and its locals and their way of living.  Ana Hernández said: “We tried to recreate the habit from the neighbors in the interior.” We do that through the reinterpretation of the plastic chairs they are used to take from their homes to the streets.” The restaurant manages to obtain a community feeling, inviting all guests to feel like dining here is an extension of their own home. The design shows patterns made with customized tiles that reinterpret the facades from the neighborhood. Nonetheless, special attention is given to the bar countertop that looks like a facade. Also, with all the unique decorations and figures, it makes the space more intimate and personal. Also, Sergio’s food selection comprises references from the neighborhood and products from the sea, always with a traditional focus, slightly reinvented. On the other hand, there is the second part of the restaurant. The most genuine seafood made by Sergio is the location’s central attraction point. The design recreates a massive wave that grows toward the kitchen and is traduced into a sculpture made of ceramic pieces. Additionally, with sparkling blue tiles that shine like fish scales, the handmade ceramic floor in white and blue, and the seats covered in marine green make the customers feel at “home.” Nonetheless, they experience the division between the water and the sand of the sea and fishing boats. Get to know the Hottest New Restaurant In Paris – Mon Square

There is a new restaurant in Paris! With the elegant and colorful interiors of Florence Lopez, this restaurant is a design lover’s dream. The French designer, Florence Lopez, reveals that she is not limited to a single style. What truly matters in her designs is that any interior has a unique personality. That is, it must have something distinctive, something that differentiates it from other projects. The Salon Rose features quartz-topped tables and a mural by artist Sacha Floch Poliakoff. Mon Square situated on a corner of Paris that is almost hideously beautiful. It is located in the heart of Faubourg Saint-Germain, opposite the Basilica of Sainte-Clotilde, a neo-Gothic 19th-century building. Moreover, across the street is a small park, Square Samuel Rousseau. With a green lawn, chestnut trees, and tall plane trees, surrounded by a black wrought iron fence. The outdoor terrace in front of Mon Square, which faces a small park, the Square Samuel Rousseau, and the Sainte-­Clotilde Basilica. Quentin de Fleuriau, 32 years, is the owner of this new restaurant. Since he was a teenager,  Quentin, knew he wanted to have his place. He is a veteran of the Costes brothers ’empire. He spent more than six years learning how Hôtel Costes works, worked at L’Avenue, La Belle Armée and La Société, and was director of Café Marly. The outdoor terrace in front of Mon Square. The furniture included elements of nature. Quentin, at first, was just going to recreate the banquettes and repaint the walls. He ended up taking everything and with the help of Florence, an old friend, transformed the restaurant into something beautiful and for design lovers. Florence Lopez was born and raised in Bordeaux. The design was never far away: her mother was a talented designer and the niece of Henri Frugès. Who, in 1920, commissioned Le Corbusier to build a modernist neighborhood in Bordeaux, the Cité Frugès, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. At the age of 18, Lopez moved to Paris and became friends with Les Lalanne artist, designer Eric Schmitt, artist, and architect Olivier Gagnère and sculptor César. She worked for the Etamine fabric house. Then she went to New York for an internship at Christie’s and worked at Parish-Hadley and McMillen Inc. Returning to Paris, she worked with Jacques Garcia before launching alone. Designer Florence Lopez Florence had never done any restaurant design. The first time he visited the place, he immediately had a vision of the space: an imaginary garden, very Parisian, accompanied by the sounds of Claude Debussy, a composer that Lopez loves. Firstly, she created four main spaces in Mon Square: a large terrace protected by a long awning; a dramatic central bar; and two dining rooms. Secondly, a pink room to the left of the bar and a green one upstairs. Florence included elements of nature in this new restaurant. The front doors have brass handles in the shape of branches. The floor and many walls are dark green. The tables have brass bases with green agate or rose quartz tops. A vintage 1960s lamp by Hans-Agne Jakobsson rests on a green agate shelf in the bar area. Also, to complete the splendid project, Lopez called on painter Sacha Floch Poliakoff who created murals of bucolic scenes, and the Portuguese ceramist, Bela Silva. She made several exotic pieces: a flock of colorful birds in brass candlesticks, perched on the outer walls; a huge tree that rises above the bar; and a mantle made of porcelain sheets with a green enameled texture. An elaborate tree and birds by Portuguese ceramist Bela Silva, in a birdcage by Florence Lopez, stand behind Mon Square’s central bar, which is adjacent to the green dining room. Therefore, a private room off the upstairs dining room is a collaboration with contemporary artist Mathias Kiss.Since opening in January, this new restaurant in Paris, serving seasonal French cuisine, has started to attract a crowd. From movie stars, politicians and diplomats, to neighborhood goers and young, modern Parisians.
