An Australian design project in Bayside, Melbourne, was born from the creativity and imagination of Kiril Architecture and Without Studio.
Kiril Architects joined Without Studio to create a more family-friendly, elegant, and playful environment. The name of this Australian design project, Keys + Pockets, is inspired by a jigsaw puzzle, adding a dynamic and fun element to every room. Certainly, Hommés Studio significantly contributed to this project by incorporating one of our most sought-after pieces, the Cadiz Stool. Renowned for its exquisite design and craftsmanship, the Cadiz Stool exemplifies the perfect blend of modern aesthetics and timeless elegance.
Without Studio’s Creative Director, Sarah Shinners, made the design choice to meet the client’s wishes for a fun, interactive, and functional space where the whole family can enjoy themselves at home. The main objective of this Australian design project is to create a warm and inviting space that reflects the client’s style and meets their functional needs. This approach ensures every room feels welcoming and personal, fostering a sense of connection and comfort.
This article will delve into this Australian Design Project and how it has become a unique and special space. So read on and join us on a journey to Australia to discover the new gem of Bayside!

All the decor and furniture pieces were chosen with a specific goal in mind: to promote local artists and makers. We believe in their unique and sustainable creations, and by showcasing their work, we are enhancing our spaces and supporting our community. This commitment reflects our dedication to fostering local talent and celebrating craftsmanship that stands the test of time.
Each space has been meticulously designed with a harmonious blend of neutral colors and carefully selected pieces. Subtle hues create a cohesive and serene atmosphere, while standout decor items are strategically placed to draw attention and add character to each area. This deliberate placement ensures that every room feels balanced and distinct, showcasing the space’s unique features while maintaining a unified aesthetic.

You can observe a contemporary style in every room of this Australian house, from the choice of colors to the selection of pieces. This style makes the spaces more luxurious, and that´s the point of this Australian design project. Functional elements, such as the chess table, are used for decoration and provide family entertainment.
The fun begins when you step into the house designed by Kiril Architects and Without Studio. Every corner of this home is thoughtfully crafted to evoke childhood nostalgia and the carefree joy of youth. Playful elements are seamlessly integrated into the modern and luxurious design, creating an environment where every family member can find something to enjoy. From whimsical decor that sparks imagination to functional yet entertaining spaces like the chess table, this home is a delightful blend of sophistication and fun, making it a perfect sanctuary for relaxation and play.

The client’s wishes were fulfilled, and their interior design project was realized: to create a fun and functional space for the whole family. Children and adults can envision their dream space and enjoy the games they can play individually and as a family. The designers for this interior design project carefully selected colors and elements to ensure that the entire family feels a sense of harmony in every room of their home. Additionally, our Cadiz stool is prominently featured in the living room, where it blends wonderfully with the other elements and stands out with its bold shape and comfort.
Using neutral colors, layered textures, custom pieces, and wooden elements effectively enhances a space’s personality, elevating its elegance and uniqueness. Neutral colors provide a versatile backdrop that allows other design elements to shine while layers of texture add depth and interest. Custom pieces bring a personal touch, making the space feel distinctively yours. Wooden elements introduce warmth and natural charm, creating a sophisticated and cohesive aesthetic. Together, these design choices create a harmonious and individualized environment that stands out with refined elegance.
