Inside the world’s priciest and largest Los Angeles House

Behold ‘The One’ – a record-breaking Los Angeles House with 105,000 square feet of living space and, it seems, a nearly $350 million price tag. After almost a decade of design and development work, what is being presented as ‘the world’s most expensive home’ is finally ready for its close-up. Surrounded on three sides by a channel and a 400-foot-long running track, the estate appears to float above the city. Completed over eight years, architect Paul McClean designed this Los Angeles house, enlisted by owner Nile Niami to make his massive dream come true. “This project felt sensational and simultaneously intimidating,” says McClean. Nevertheless, the home’s unique location and long-standing relationship with Niami persuaded McClean. He takes on the project but also creates something exceptional and magnificent. With its 26-foot-high ceilings, the home’s main entrance leads to a collection of gathering areas with panoramic 360-degree views. The use of black, white, and grey throughout the home was based on Niami’s desire. He wanted to have a neutral palette that would allow the landscape and panoramas to shine. Getting inspiration from the surrounding environment and history of Los Angeles modernism, McClean has connected the homes’ inside with outside to provide that L.A living. The designer separated the entertainment spaces from the living areas to allow the home to feel liveable and comfortable. The first area is located at the lower level. This area creates a platform for the rest of the house to sit on and reduces its evident dimension. Beyond the eye-catching design, this house has 42 bathrooms, 21 bedrooms, a 5,500-square-foot master suite. Also, a 30-car garage, a bowling alley, a spa, a movie theatre, a 10,000-square-foot sky deck, and 5 swimming pools. Along with Niami, Kathryn Rotondi, founder of KFR Design, worked on the interior design to shape the spaces. Rotondi was drawn to the ‘wow factor’ elements in the hospitality sector for inspiration. Meanwhile, the home’s color palette, soft textures, and lighting are an ode to the Tom Ford boutique, Niami and McClean’s favorite. Thanks to a collaboration between Creative Art Partners and Art Angeles, the property features an impressive collection of art. A butterfly installation by Stephen Wilson on the lower level. Moreover, a Niclas Castello custom panel in black and silver in the office. Due to recently approved city regulations, a house of this magnitude will never again be constructed in Los Angeles. This means ‘The One’ will truly remain one of a kind. “This project was such a long and educational journey for us all,” McClean notes. “It was approached with excitement and was thrilling to create, but I do not think any of us realized just how much effort and time it would take to complete the project.” We really hope you liked our article. Get to know the Hottest New Restaurant In Paris – Mon Square

There is a new restaurant in Paris! With the elegant and colorful interiors of Florence Lopez, this restaurant is a design lover’s dream. The French designer, Florence Lopez, reveals that she is not limited to a single style. What truly matters in her designs is that any interior has a unique personality. That is, it must have something distinctive, something that differentiates it from other projects. The Salon Rose features quartz-topped tables and a mural by artist Sacha Floch Poliakoff. Mon Square situated on a corner of Paris that is almost hideously beautiful. It is located in the heart of Faubourg Saint-Germain, opposite the Basilica of Sainte-Clotilde, a neo-Gothic 19th-century building. Moreover, across the street is a small park, Square Samuel Rousseau. With a green lawn, chestnut trees, and tall plane trees, surrounded by a black wrought iron fence. The outdoor terrace in front of Mon Square, which faces a small park, the Square Samuel Rousseau, and the Sainte-Clotilde Basilica. Quentin de Fleuriau, 32 years, is the owner of this new restaurant. Since he was a teenager,  Quentin, knew he wanted to have his place. He is a veteran of the Costes brothers ’empire. He spent more than six years learning how Hôtel Costes works, worked at L’Avenue, La Belle Armée and La Société, and was director of Café Marly. The outdoor terrace in front of Mon Square. The furniture included elements of nature. Quentin, at first, was just going to recreate the banquettes and repaint the walls. He ended up taking everything and with the help of Florence, an old friend, transformed the restaurant into something beautiful and for design lovers. Florence Lopez was born and raised in Bordeaux. The design was never far away: her mother was a talented designer and the niece of Henri Frugès. Who, in 1920, commissioned Le Corbusier to build a modernist neighborhood in Bordeaux, the Cité Frugès, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. At the age of 18, Lopez moved to Paris and became friends with Les Lalanne artist, designer Eric Schmitt, artist, and architect Olivier Gagnère and sculptor César. She worked for the Etamine fabric house. Then she went to New York for an internship at Christie’s and worked at Parish-Hadley and McMillen Inc. Returning to Paris, she worked with Jacques Garcia before launching alone. Designer Florence Lopez Florence had never done any restaurant design. The first time he visited the place, he immediately had a vision of the space: an imaginary garden, very Parisian, accompanied by the sounds of Claude Debussy, a composer that Lopez loves. Firstly, she created four main spaces in Mon Square: a large terrace protected by a long awning; a dramatic central bar; and two dining rooms. Secondly, a pink room to the left of the bar and a green one upstairs. Florence included elements of nature in this new restaurant. The front doors have brass handles in the shape of branches. The floor and many walls are dark green. The tables have brass bases with green agate or rose quartz tops. A vintage 1960s lamp by Hans-Agne Jakobsson rests on a green agate shelf in the bar area. Also, to complete the splendid project, Lopez called on painter Sacha Floch Poliakoff who created murals of bucolic scenes, and the Portuguese ceramist, Bela Silva. She made several exotic pieces: a flock of colorful birds in brass candlesticks, perched on the outer walls; a huge tree that rises above the bar; and a mantle made of porcelain sheets with a green enameled texture. An elaborate tree and birds by Portuguese ceramist Bela Silva, in a birdcage by Florence Lopez, stand behind Mon Square’s central bar, which is adjacent to the green dining room. Therefore, a private room off the upstairs dining room is a collaboration with contemporary artist Mathias Kiss.Since opening in January, this new restaurant in Paris, serving seasonal French cuisine, has started to attract a crowd. From movie stars, politicians and diplomats, to neighborhood goers and young, modern Parisians. Most importantly, and quoting Fleuriau, owner of the restaurant: “This feels like the beginning of a beautiful story”. We hope you liked our article and the interior’s suggestions. Lighting Home for Winter: Find how with these HOMMÉS’s tips

Winter is coming and in this article, you can find tips for Lighting Home. Because it is a dark season, we prepared a selection of home lighting ideas. For your light design project, you can inspire yourself with these lamp ideas. HOMMÉS Studio will present wall lamps, ceiling lamps, chandeliers, and others. Check how to add and use them during the winter season. Playing with Natural Light  The house lighting should always be influenced and planned by the available natural light. For example, on a dark day, there should be several sources of light. From a ceiling lamp to floor and table lamps.  On the contrary, on a brighter winter day, the light design can be reduced. Because of the high level of natural light, a single lamp turned on in the room could work.  Lighting Decor for Dark Rooms Not in all dark rooms is necessary to have a big amount of spotlights. For instance, in a dark bathroom, maybe some candles combined with one or two wall lights can be enough. In the same vein, while waking up in a dark winter morning, soft light sources can be more pleasurable. Subsequently, at bedtime, they will help to make a warm and comforting environment. On the other hand, rooms like the kitchen where the lack of natural light affects more, it needs brighter beams.  Light Bulbs Temperature  The temperature of the light bulbs is measured on the Kelvin scale from warm white at 2700-3000K to daylight at 6500K. In the winter season, the bulb’s temperature is more essential than ever.  Adjustable lighting solutions such as dimmer switches or LEDs are a good option. With these, it’s possible to display multiple color temperatures and intensities. In case you can’t have these lights, switch out the bulbs to increase clarity. Chose the ones to change according to their function.  We hope you liked our article. Feel free to pin all the images to your favourite Pinterest board. Irakli Zaria – The Japanese and Mid-Century Apartment

Irakli Zaria grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia, in a cozy apartment with a modest outdoor and a gorgeous view of the city. In his house, his favorite part was the huge library with a large collection of books on architecture, art history, and, of course, Russian classics by Pushkin, Lermontov, and Tolstoy. In this article, you are going to find out the outstanding furniture and decoration that he used in this Japanese and mid-century apartment. At 17/18 he had his first contact with interior design. As interest continued to grow, he decided to go to Moscow to study at the Details Design School. Years later, he ended up opening his own interior design company. Source: ELLE Decor The Galerie Glustin sofa in the sitting room is covered in a Dominique Kieffer velvet, the brass nesting tables are vintage, and the bronze consoles and mirrors are Italian. The curtains are of an embroidered Dedar silk, the wallpaper is by Holland & Sherry, the 1925 ceramic bowl is by Edouard Cazaux, and the Venetian glass decanters are from the 1960s. Most of his projects are residential and most of his clients are in Moscow, where he now resides. Also designed several international projects, including an 1880s apartment in Barcelona and a 1950s villa in Cannes, France. This duplex apartment in London is owned by a Russian couple with 3 young children and they often travel to London. He is a businessman, and she is a well-known fashion blogger. It is a modern building overlooking Hyde Park, surrounded by neoclassical houses. The couple wanted a nice, relaxed place that didn’t look too “London-ish”. Irakli Zaria soon realized that he had to incorporate a little color into the spaces to contrast London’s characteristic gray weather. The woman shared the designer’s passion for furniture from the 1950s to the 1970s, so 80% of the furniture is vintage. Source: ELLE Decor The dining room’s 1940s oak sideboard and 1960s ceramic lamps are French. The Japanese screen is from the 16th century, and the brass-and-glass chandelier is 1980s Italian. For Irakli Zaria, carpets are the biggest painting in a living room, the designer started with this very important piece in any room. The patterns are inspired by ancient Japanese Art Deco. Source: ELLE Decor In the sitting room, the three armchairs are from the 1960s, the cocktail tables and custom screens are by Galerie Glustin, and the 1970s Pino Signoretto vase is Venetian. The silk rug and gilt mirror are both custom, and the drypoint print on the mantel is by Oleg Kudryashov. After choosing carpets, the color palette is another important point to take into account. For this apartment, Irakli Zaria chose a palette composed of shades of turquoise. Source: ELLE Decor The daughter’s custom bed is covered in a bedspread made from a Pierre Frey silk. The Milo Baughman bench, Italian glass-and-brass cabinet, and Murano lamp are all from the 1970s, the silk carpet and plaster-relief clouds are custom, and the 1950s chandelier is by Carlo Scarpa. Designer Irakli Zaria is known for always incorporating Japanese and Chinese art and antiques into his projects. In this project, there are two Japanese screens. One of them is hung above the headboard in the master bedroom from the 17th century and gives the room a vibrant and cozy feel. In the master bedroom, the custom headboard is in a Holland & Sherry velvet, the nightstand is from the 1970s, and the 1935 leather lamp is by Paul Dupré-Lafon. The screen is 17th-century Japanese, and the metallic raffia wallcovering is by Phillip Jeffries. Japan’s other gold screen is in the dining room. It is a 16th-century piece with 15th-century Chinese love letter inserts. The paint hangs in the dining room, offsetting the vintage raffia chairs Milo Baughman, and a Karl Springer table that looks like marble but is actually leather goat covered with many layers of lacquer.
