WHAT IS MILAN DESIGN WEEK?
Milan Design Week is the name given to define the time of the year in which Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone take over the Italian city of Milan. This event is the yearly pilgrimage of design professionals and design lovers, who have the chance to discover new products, disruptive artistic expressions, as well as design trends.
Usually happening in April, this year the Milan Design Week 2022 happens from 6 to 12 June in order to grant maximum safety to exhibitors, visitors, journalists, and the entire international furnishing and design community from all over the world in order to make the very most of an event that promises to be packed with new things, in total safety.
WHAT IS THE THEME OF MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2022?
The theme of Milan Design Week 2022 is Between Space and Time.
In addition to the celebration of a major anniversary, both Milan Design Week and iSalone 2022 will focus on sustainability, acting as a showcase for the progress made in the design industry by creatives, designers, and companies.
Milan Design Week 2022 under the concept of Fuorisalone 2022‘s theme Between Space and Time, is a special week dedicated to arts and design, and the sharing and hybridizations between leading and emerging designers, able to give rise to innovative projects that influence the design industry.
Space and time are these two dimensions at the heart of the debate and international agendas that today determine the frame of reference for the design culture defining its context of action. The theme emerged over the last two years, from the dialogue with companies and designers and from the COP26 programme manifesto: we don’t have much time to think about our space and only planning every action in a conscious way can we think about the future. From the relationship between these two elements different interpretations will arise useful to broaden the dialogue in an open exchange between professionals, researchers and entrepreneurs hybridising different disciplines.

WHAT IS SALONE DEL MOBILE?
The Salone del Mobile (or Salone Internazionale del Mobile) is the global benchmark for the Home Furnishing and Design Sector. It is not only a great vehicle for brands showcasing their products but also a great opportunity for professionals networking.
Salone del Mobile made its debut in 1961. The first edition had the intention to promote Italian furniture and furnishings around the world. WHAT IS FUORISALONE?
Fuorisalone is the set of events distributed in different areas of Milan on the same days when the Salone Internazionale del Mobile takes place in the stands of Rho Fiera. Opposing to Salone del Mobile, Fuorisalone is not a fair event, it doesn’t have a central organisation nor is managed by any institution. It happens freely across the coolest streets in the city of Milan, with an independent organization system.
At Milan Design Week 2022 and Fuorisalone 2022, you’ll find a cluster of exhibitions and events on the very best of automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food.
