Kim Kardashian as Marylin Monroe and Blake Lively as the Statue of Liberty served the best Met Gala 2022 Red Carpet looks, in an edition theme In America: An Anthology Of Fashion.
The First Monday in May, which means that the Met Gala 2022 red carpet was flooded with glamour… Gilded Glamour. Only 8 months ago – and against all odds – we saw the arts, fashion, and (even) political elite climbing up the most lavish stairs of New York City. In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion was the first part of an exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a showcase that celebrates and explores the best and the unsung of American Fashion.
At the 2021 Met Gala edition, Billie Eilish in an Oscar de la Renta dress left the world in awe – but so did Kim Kardashian with a black Balenciaga look from head to toe, literally, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky in haute couture blankets, and Kara Delevigne and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with controversial political affirmations – looks that you can look back on with The Met Gala 2021: The Best, Worst, and Mixed-Feelings Dressed.
In America: An Anthology of Fashion is the theme of this year’s Met Gala 2022 red carpet. A White Tie dress code invites the most adored celebrities to take on the Gilded Glamour and encourages the shiniest stars of the universe to wear haute couture creations that revamp the late 19th-century fashion.
Being worldwide known for serving iconic fashion moments, this year’s event was hosted by Met Gala royalty, namely Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Among the celebrities who didn’t attend the Met Gala 2022 red carpet is the singer and beauty mogul Rihanna, who didn’t show up since is awaiting the birth of her first child with ASAP Rocky.
Despite her absence, the indisputable queen of Met Gala turned all attendees into stone with a marble sculpture of a very pregnant and stunning Rihanna as of Eirene, the Personification of Peace, in a candid tribute by the Met Museum and Vogue Magazine that you can take a look at on Rihanna’s Instagram.
