Nestled in a charming clifftop surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest in Montecito, this California house perfectly represents an independent building. This is because the home was constructed using hard-wearing materials, the mass being especially fire-resistant standing seam metal covering on the outside. When it comes to the inside, the main goal was to create a hyperfunctional interior architecture. To accomplish this, architect and designer Jamie Bush, who was assisted by the architecture firm Shubin Donaldson, was needed.
The use of resistant materials was significant to the clients since they were victims of the catastrophic Thomas Fire of 2017.
