Fashion’s favorite architect Peter Marino tailors the two years makeover of the iconic Dior flagship store on Avenue Montagne in Paris.
Times have changed, evolution is inexorable, things move forward. Peter Marino has renovated the iconic Dior flagship store on 30 Avenue Montaigne, on the corner with rue François Ier in Paris. After a two years makeover, Dior’s historic boutique reopened on two floors.
The haute couture shopping experience counts on a signature restaurant, a pastry shop, three gardens, a 2,000 m2 museum recalling the history of Chrisitan Dior, as well as sewing and jewelry ateliers.
The House Of Dior on Avenue Montaigne is the epitome of a world of luxury full of possibilities, which combines history, creativity, and know-how.

DIOR BOUTIQUE’S DNA
Peter Marino blends history with the present, heritage with modernity. And he does so throughout the emblematic 10,000 square meters of Dior flagship store with the association of more than a hundred different materials. From stone to precious fabrics, and in a gradation of whites where the materials generate color, through the work of stucco to add further tactile texture.

In this perpetual movement between the old and the new, the American architect creates a contemporary layout that complements vintage elements, such as the reclaimed carpentry of the old Dior boutique, a Versailles parquet, or the pale pink toile de Jouy.
Even though Peter Marino is the best architect when it comes to tailoring haute couture shopping experiences and has been helping to develop Dior boutiques’ sophisticated DNA throughout the years, old elements are still essential to create the luxury world of Dior.

DIOR FLAGSHIP STORE ON AVENUE MONTAIGNE
The palette of white, beige, and browns create a timeless and uncompromised atmosphere. Peter Marino combines contemporary decor elements and furniture with vintage treasures. The looks of the Dior flagship store in Paris is unrepeatable.
The shopping experience is boosted by details that go deep into feelings and emotions. For instance, light, space, and nature are omnipresent. The floors are airy and comfortable, spaces to admire. Nature, namely flowers, plays a very important role. For instance, in Dior’s flagship store beauty station, the perfume area is dotted with roses.
Gallery, the 2,000 square meters of the 75-year history of House Of Dior conceived as a museum show the evolution of fashion through the history of the luxury brand’s House. The museum exhibits pieces from the collections and even some emblematic places that have been preserved in their original state, such as the office of Christian Dior.

Regarding the gardens, Peter Marino took the chance to honor Christian’s Dior healthful passion for gardens. Landscaper Peter Wirtz worked alongside Peter Marino to design three gardens whose plantation will be renewed every month.
Finally, La Suite Dior is the utmost daring space of the Dior flagship store on Avenue Montaigne. Peter Marino created a place where people can rent it for one night to enjoy the haute couture experience to the fullest.
