This unique Miami place is a female sanctuary designed by the interior designer Tiffany Howell, co-founder of Night Palm.
Located at one of the higher buildings projected by the Sweden architecture office Herzog & de Meuron in Miami’s neighborhood of Sunny Isles, are two condos with two bedrooms and a private elevator, with the huge potential to be the house of everyone’s dreams mainly due to its gorgeous view over the ocean.
Jena Covello, the founder of the beauty brand, Agent Nateur, found her own true oasis here after living for several years in Los Angeles she decided to return to the east coast – she is from New Jersey. Although, decided that was the time to move to Miami and enjoy this chill and calmer lifestyle where is sun every day.
This Miami apartment was only the second one Jena visited, however she knew it was the one. The view this apartment give to her was simply outstanding and immediately convinced her. Even if it already seemed like paradise, it still needed some adjustments to fit her tastes and needs and for that, her friend, Aimee Osbourne presented her with the interior designer Tiffany Howell and she literally fell in love with her style of decorating.
The two women connected from the first moment they met which make the work between this team a lot easier and fun to accomplish. The project took around five months and occurred during the covid-19 pandemic situation so the interior designer worked on this Miami project remotely.
To create an open space the living, dining space, and kitchen are connected with the balcony where some sun loungers are displaced which invites the guests to stop and admire the exceptional view in this place that can be described as the perfect marriage between Miami style and 70’s Riviera aesthetic. The designer wanted to create a good flow between the rooms and create an extension between each other.
The starting point for this project was a sensorial study which the designer normally does with her clients. She confesses to working with them in order to understand how they want to feel in the spaces designed in their home.
She usually likes to know things such as fragrances, musical taste, and favorite places to go and visit among other curiosities. After that, together they create the playlist for the project that will define the mood of the renovation which, in this case, resulted in an interesting 80’s mix of music that simply create an ambiance and boosted the general aesthetic of this Miami project.
Both of the involved ladies have a special passion for fashion which is reflected in the upholstered. In this Miami project, neutral tones such as white and beige are combined with some small colorful touches that reflect the pink of the Miami sunset. We can see textures such as velvet, besides the metallic elements that were also introduced to the place. In fact, the living room is a very playful and feminine space.
We can see multiple curves and sizes on the furniture and objects displaced as decor to create a sexy, welcoming, and calm atmosphere but, at the same time, with a lot of influence from Jena Covello’s personality. Can be spotted multiple pieces of art, for instance, pieces of Jessalyn Brooks, Gia Coppola, and Sara Marlowe to brighten up the various areas of the house. Among the most favorite pieces, is highlighted the Ettore Sottsass’ mirror in the main room, with a table and mirror in the hall the designer chose for being almost Bulgari jewels, besides the Laine+Alliage wallpaper in Jena’s room.
According to Tiffany Howell, this whole environment evokes the vibes of Lana del Rey or Sade music. In fact, for Jena, this Miami house is a total sculptural piece of art.
