Discover how this incredible project showed off the very nature of human essence in interior design using eco chic design styles.

Jian Xia is an art manager with a music major and a deep love for art, who believes from the bottom of her heart that her home is an extension of her soul, and when she approached Wang Ju with her project to combine art with architecture as an expression of human emotions and our souls, we got to see an incredibly unique usage case of the eco chic style.
Wang Ju is a very peculiar designer, in the sense that he has a very vast understanding for mundane objects, like the domestic utensils he has collected for the last 20 years, paired with his imense emotional sensibility, made him one of the best possible partners for Xia in this project.
The new home that Xia had envisioned required for Wang to concentrate the unique vitality and requirements of this home, always with the main goal of expressing and exposing personal values, freedom and artistic sensibility.

When it comes to the masterful usage of the eco chic style throughout Wang’s work, we can see its usage starting here with the abondant use of natural light in this living room, paired with the masterful usage of a neutral color pallette, mainly focusing on cream and white colors.
Not only that, but the furniture also features plenty of organic shapes, such as in the curved sofa and the circular table, which adds to the overall fluidity and sense of nature that Wang wanted to make sure was present in this room, which paired with other elements such as the inclusion of plants and decorative stones, truly make us reminsce of nature, which is a fulcral point of the eco chic style.
Eco chic is all about sustainability, which is something that Wang wanted to make clear in each room, by making sure the aesthetic would remain timeless and wouldn’t rely on keeping up with trends, to reduce constant makeovers and excessive consumption.

The dining room has a bit of a different feel, although it maintains most of the elements of the eco chic style that Wang has been using so far, namely his brilliant use of natural light, inclusion of nature by using plants, and by including plenty of fluid and organic shapes, namely through the chairs and the table.
Wang has also chosen to keep including sustainable furniture choices in this project, by choosing minimalistic and ergonomic dining chairs, which go against the mass production trends we have seen in the last years.
This whole room brings a sense of relaxation and comfort during your meals, but also a bit of a mysterious and more educated feeling than in the rest of the house, through the usage of a darker tone of beige in the chairs and the table.

Now, on the second floor, we can see that the main theme of connection with human emotion has been kept on through the usage of the word “tranquilité”, a word that was chosen by the owner’s son, which is French for “tranquility”, which makes its usage in this project that much more special and significant.
Eco chic is still a dominant design style in this hallway, namely through the continuous use of beige and cream colors, paired with another fantastic display of usage of natural light by Wang, as a means of preserving the presence of natural elements in this section of the house.
Even the circular-shaped lamps remind us of the fluidity and simplicity that is often associated with the eco chic style, which makes them blend in neatly with the rest of this part of the home.

In the third-floor gallery, we once again left in awe after witnessing Wang’s amazing ability to perfectly blend natural elements such as the light with fluid yet subtle shapes in the furniture.
This gallery perfectly blends elegance with subtlety, which again, fits in with eco chic style’s philosophy of prioritizing minimalism, ethical design, and durability, all the while without sacrificing its beauty and overall aesthetic.
Xia’s envisioned home, where art and architecture could coexist and express the embodiment of human emotion and soul, was truly coming together to show the world that there are still ways to go against mass production and the mainstream, which this room shows perfectly through its usage of minimalist furniture and art pieces.
