CHROMATIK HOUSE is a synaesthetic exhibition taking place at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in Quadrilatero della Moda on Milan Design Week 2022.
CHROMATIK HOUSE is a hyperphysical exhibition by Hommés Studio alongside ACH Collection, ACH4Pets and Tapis Studio, taking part in the third edition of Palazzo delle Meraviglie at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in the heart of downtown Milan.
The synaesthetic experience invites visitors to explore a metaverse version of a traditional home using their primal senses – hearing, sight, smell, and touch – to explore a space that blends real and imaginative, leaving them wondering whether the future is still unwritten or it is a mere rebirth of classical philosophies and aesthetics.
CHROMATIK HOUSE is an unseen experience conveying a series of different atmospheres, themes, and aesthetics. Based on four movements – NeoClassic, NeoSurrealism, NeoPop, and NeoPrimitive, the Porto-based design studio will set an interactive scenario that blends classical proportions, dreamlike silhouettes, and unexpected colors with a construction based on human emotion.

NEOCLASSIC
Neoclassicism is one of the biggest influences on CHROMATIK HOUSE. The exhibition at Palazzo delle Meraviglie on Milan Design Week is strongly influenced by the proportions and philosophies of the Renaissance period – the importance of looking back to move forward, the thirst for producing more knowledge and better technology, and the relation of each woman and each man with the world as the main reason for such change.
Regarding the scenic storytelling, timelessness is key. Classic principles and proportions are considered when it comes to fitting ultra-modern furniture into a 19th-century house museum.
The exhibition CHROMATIK HOUSE asks if we can design the metaverse and create a forever reality regardless of the heritage that brought us this far.
NEOSURREALISM
More than ever, we need to think of a world where we can disconnect from reality. Will the metaverse be the alternative world where we can log reality out? While the question stills unanswered, CHROMATIK HOUSE advocates that homes with dreamlike, visually attractive objects are what we need to disconnect from a chaotic world. Home is always there.
The Porto-based design studio thinks that amusement is mandatory and the space we live in must be a playground for our minds and spirit.
Unexpectedly cheerful homes with surrealist objects, a kaleidoscope of colors, and fanciful silhouettes blur the line between reality and imagination, tangible and virtual, and are the sweetest escape.
NEOPOP
It is broadly acknowledged that vanguardism implies a bit of provocation. A home with futuristic shapes has provocation in the right measure –CHROMATIK HOUSE is proof of it.
The Porto-based design studio shows off the eclecticism of its genetic code. Hommés Studio and the other three brands – ACH Collection, ACH4Pets and TAPIS Studio have a chameleonic identity that ranges from Renaissance’s classical proportions to Pop Art’s psychotropic palette.

Behind any artistic or scientific revolution is human emotion. Something as primitive has led great minds to drastically change the world, turning emotions into valuable pieces of history, using the most basic senses – sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.
As a synaesthetic experience, CHROMATIK HOUSE invites guests to discover the space using each sense individually, exploring different perceptions we can get from the exhibition.
